How safe is the workshop?
just wondering how safe the workshop is for subscribing to mods? i know for skyrim its unsafe and and can break a game if a modder pulls/updates their work but what about GC3? will it break my game/save if a modder pulls/alters/updates their content for:

Updates
Bugs/glitches
Permanant removal
A complete overhaul
Political/Religious reasons(only ever seen this once for skyrim but its always a possibility)

its one of the reason i prefer to use non steam mods and while the nexus has some mods it has almost NO factions(it has Gauntlets race mod but when ever i try and use it i get dozens of error messgaes about custom races not being available despite the fact i have ALL DLLC)/civs/ships since the workshop puts the control of my game/saves and computer partly in other peoples hands...

am i being overly cautious(soome may say paranoid) or do i have valid concerns?

I also had that problem with GRM when Crusade first came out; however, I haven't seen any errors with GRM enabled for several months.

The GalCiv3 workshop doesn't have mods in the traditional sense. Just custom content made with on-game editors. Also most of the data is saved with the save game, so even if something changed, your save would still have the data it started with.

well i cant see any items on any workshop now of any game i have STEAM IS DEAD IF THEY DONT ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FIX IT

I cant get the workshop items to work at all.

You have to put mods in a special folder under your profile. For crusade its going to look like:

C:\Users\YOU\Documents\My Games\GC3Crusade\Mods\MODNAME\Game\filename.xml

I don't think you can break the game. I messed up a mod a bunch of times (I really hate xml, its bloated and picky) and GC3 just popped up an ugly window to tell me that I noobed it up until I finally got it to work. You can probably make the game crash or behave poorly but its just a click away to delete the mod and repair.
