so i was ever found this mod named starving zombies where zombies would try to eat corpse and animals, i was wondering if zombies are really that hungry for meat especially how it was mentioned from week one npcs where they said "my wife isnt vegetarian anymore" and "i feel so hungry" and so what if you can distract zombies with fresh food or they will at least try to raid any containers with fresh food if there are no humans around, other than that zombies will also try to eat your plant crops as long as there are no humans or animals around. and vegetarian zombies would be a nice rare addition where the zombie itself are only interested to eat fruits and vegetables by raiding grocery stores with fruits and vegetables and also vegetable crops that player planted, the vegetarian zombie wont attack players unless if you attack them (neutral at start) and if you holding or carrying any fresh fruit or vegetable they will most likely try to attack you and by attacking i mean try to punch and beat you up since they will not interested to eat you alive. and the reason why i got this idea is because realistically zombies wont be possible and even if its possible most of the time they will have short livespan by withering away so i think the zombies having some small diet of insects and plants would be make sense on how they keep being around other than because they infect more humans on the later years.
