Newbie Question !!
I am playing RE2 and when i try to use the detector to scan for nearest Ore
it does not show anything
no poi no ore fields
it just shows bases
any tips

You can try posting this on the proper workshop thread.
Detectors don't scan for nearest ore.
When you fire the detector, it will show all detected POIs, patrol vessels, drones, resource asteroids, ore deposits, and player structures within a certain radius of yourself. Objects further away will only show for a brief moment, while closer ones will be discovered and from then on always show on your map. Ones outside of your detector's scan range will of course not show up.
The range of the handheld detector is quite low, so it's likely there's simply no ore deposits near your location. Either explore around some more, or build a HV or SV with a detector.

I strongly recommend at least playing through the game's dedicated tutorial accessed from the main menu. RE2 is intended for experienced players so there's no real tutorial for it.

What happens to me at times, that the game seems to change the show hud modes. So when I scan and nothing happens first thing I do is press F6 a few times until all hud items are visible. Usually fixes it.
