Anyone else stuck on Red Receiver of Death?

Yup, I can't figure it out. It seems like the pressure plate sets off some kind of timer...if the red receiver opens, you die. I haven't figured out how to block the laser yet.

Put the connector as close to the window as you can, while ensuring that the line of sight is between the 2 connectors on the other side of the room and the nearby receiver.
