🚩 Road to Revived History

Description
Sick of portuguese Australia in the 1600s? Get annoyed of Spanish Cape Colony? Do you feel like the colonial growth is too consistent? Ever wanted to rule as new spain within its historical time period? Then this is THE mod for you!

On the first screenshot I demonstrated how an average game might look like for you just by letting the AI play. I took it in the year 1725 (Screenshot is outdated since improvements have been made). Also great for roleplaying purposes!

Features:
  • Historical colonization system (No Spanish Cape Colony, no scramble for Africa in 1600, no English Mexico etc. etc.)
  • Alt historical paths
  • Vanilla extended mission trees for key countries and their minors (see the list down below)
  • New game-changing events which will help steering the game! Even plenty for late game
  • New colonial regions
  • Super colonies to counter the amount of new colonial regions; bigger colonies will be formed whenever you own the required areas e.g. owning the east coast of the US creates the Thirteen Colonies
  • New formables like Belgium and the North German Confederation
  • New subject types like Sister Republics and Confederations
  • Unification of Germany
  • Unification of Italy
  • Unification of the Netherlands
  • Historical events will more likely occur
  • Decolonization during the 1800s
  • New trade companies
  • Minor map changes to fit the colonization
  • Other small adjustments like Prussian blue

Key countries:
  • Netherlands
  • Castile/Spain
  • England/Great Britian
  • France
  • Denmark
  • Portugal
  • Belgium
  • Savoy/Italy 🍕 AMO LA PIZZA!
  • Brandenburg/Prussia/Germany
  • United States
  • Austria
  • Russia
  • Japan

Scramble for Africa sub mod:
Scramble for Africa is not included, for this you will have to install an additional submod which adds more content:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1863178210

Extra info before playing:
  • Full edition makes more map changes-- renewed does not.
  • You can find the Extended Timeline edition of this mod over here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1708333706
  • You can find the Scramble for Africa submod here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1863178210
  • Keep in mind that this mod is still work in progress
  • If a major country gets taken over the colonial system will try to and pass the colonial areas to the best possible country. For example if England gets taken over then Australia will most likely be colonized by the Netherlands (New Holland) historically. Sometimes this can even be a range of various countries.
  • Some colonial areas overlap, the first that takes it gets it.
  • You can turn colonial restrictions off early game in the decisions tab to gain more freedom. You can do this for the AI as well to fully customize to your liking :)
  • Almost all colonial settler claims do not last forever, most of them expire during the end game or earlier on.
  • Certain smaller colonies will form bigger colonies whenever you own the required areas e.g. owning the east coast of the US creates the Thirteen Colonies.
  • Colonial age restrictions are universal (apply to any country)

Compatibility & Troubleshooting:

Final note:
Originally I made this mod for myself because I got super annoyed of the AI colonizing very illogical parts of the world thus I thought why not release it for public use.
A lot still has to be done tho thus this mod is far from perfect however my goal is to get the colonization to simulate to near historical accuracy, but not perfect as it will be semi historical to keep it still random so it will still feel historical and realistic but not restricted which is exactly I am aiming for. Furthermore it shouldn't restrict the player too much either or remove the fun factor so I have to find an excellent balance which is a huge task. If you guys have feedback you know where to put it. I'm open for new ideas and improvements :)

@Agathorn (SH) yes and there's a way around it by cutting off a country from all its coasts or ceasing the country from existance. Some areas share their regions too and there's a special decision at the beginning of the game for custom play while the AI still does their thing unless you change that in the decisions.

Hi, just a question. Is it this mod that is marking colonial lands as "promised" to another country? IE "You can't colonize this territory because it is promised to Spain"? Or is that the base game. I think it is this mod just wanted to verify. If it is this mod, is that set in stone or is there any mechanic to influence it or get around it?

Great mod! I've been doing testing and the effects of the new mission trees are noticeable: I ran a couple observer games and they ended up being fairly historical by the end. So good job! One question though: Is the mod compatible with Land of the Free? I know both have additions to the mission tree for GB, but does one overwrite the other, or can they both run at the same time?
