Description
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS MOD IS STILL IN DEVELOPMENT!

Many intended features are not yet complete and balance changes have not yet been evaluated. However, nothing is (hopefully) entirely broken in the gameplay sense.

The mod is currently in active development and you can expect to see incremental changes every few days. Details will always be in the change notes.

BACKGROUND:

The owner of Drugs Expanded is no longer working on the project, so I created this mod. It began life as a simple patch to add coca storage to Drugs Expanded as someone had recently commented that it was missing. From there, I decided to work on a patch to integrate Drugs Expanded into one of my favorite mods, GenMod.

And so this patch mod is actually a major overhaul to the original Drugs Expanded in order to bring it in line with the GenMod experience. It is specifically being developed as part of a private modpack which focuses on "dwarf-fortress" style play, meaning:

-emphasis on industry and trade - the absolute best route to wealth is outpost sales, but other pursuits are also lucrative. Run trade caravans and sell goods, hunt bounties, or engage in slave trading. Sales of used loot will not yield much more than food money, unless the loot is particularly valuable. You will need to engage in some kind of enterprise in order to accumulate wealth.
-maximum faction and squad size for large labor force
-maximum attack slots for equally unfair combat
-reworked industrial chains to add more products and lengthen most production chains
-more difficult agriculture - crops generally require more labor and yield less food than before. Seeds required to plant (build) fields
-deadlier natural envionments - you'll need that protective gear
-more realistically deadly wounds, fast bleed out times, and long recovery times. Defending against a siege may leave most of your best men wounded for days, leaving you open to a follow-up attack, or an attack by another faction... and being severely wounded while on the march can have similarly serious ramifications for your campaigns.
-wide variety of buildings for making the best "dwarf fort" possible

FEATURES

Some of the features you can expect with this patch:

-Seamless integration of GenMod and Drugs Expanded's Whiskey production. Produce whiskey, Bourbon Whiskey, and Havana Whiskey from a mash made of milled grains. You will need further technology and additional additives to progress beyond ordinary Whiskey.

-Seamless integration of Drugs Expanded's cacao trees to GenMod's chocolate production.

-Expanded hemp production chain. Start with hemp, and work your way up to THC-rich marijuana. But don't stop there. Extract concentrated oils from your marijuana, use them for medicine, and work your way to producing the dankest of hashish.

-Mate de coca! Everyone's favorite alkaloid tea comes to Kenshi! While not as profitable as cocaine, you might have an easier time making it, and finding buyers for it.

-Reworked grains processing. Separate corn and wheat grain from the chaff, and use your grains to either plant your fields or for making flour or meal.

-Rebalanced economy! Drugs should be profitable according to both their legality and difficulty of production.

-Reworked research and research-based progression! I have removed most of the financial barriers to research placed by the original author and replaced them with research artifact requirements. You will need to search high and low for the materials you will need to make the more profitable things. This also means that the chain of progression for drug production technologies has been reworked.


This mod also fixes various icon transparency issues and UI descriptors for technologies, buildings, and items.

There is currently a bug that apparently leaves the marijuana farms unplantable if you do not have the better crop fences patch installed.

POSSIBLE LIST OF FUTURE FEATURES:

-Expansion of cannabis extracts. There are a plethora of potential products that could be added here.

-Expansion of cocaine products. Freebase cocaine is a possible product. We would see this form of cocaine mostly among the poorer users.

-Integration of GenMod's poppy production to allow for heroin.

-Revisit of smuggling routes and legailty of various products. With so many products, it should be possible to create many different paths to wealth, of varying legality.

Drugs Expanded Patch, GenMod Version - add a variety of craftable drugs for trading or smuggling.

Better Crop Fences for Drugs Expanded - patches the GenMod version of the Drugs Expanded Patch to use higher quality crop fences!

LonghouseAdjustment (poorly named mod that allows you to more easily place various buildings. Like Slopeless, only it covers buildings Slopeless forgot.)

Manufacturers Expanded - Craftable - small patch for manufacturers expanded.

Slowheal - Drastically increased healing times, intended to be used with large size player factions. Helps to balance having so many warriors at your disposal. Pairs well with Bleed Out!

Bleed Out! - Drastically increased blood loss and wound fester times. Pairs well with Slowheal. Be careful using this with solo character runs.

@Sex Gimp Stalin - There are some Coca farms in the Swamps. There is a large abandoned drug farm on the West side of the Swamp, bordering Spider Plains. Farming a Coca farm requires high skill of farming so take care not to use an incompetent farmer or you will fail trying to farm the Coca. Also I believe you can buy coca leaves from some traders in the Swamps although I have not tried to farm Coca in a few years and used multiple mods at the time so can't be sure.

I googled "dwarf fortress kenshi mod" in the hopes of adding beak things to dwarf fortress, and this came up. Thought it was a DF mod and became visibly confused when trying to install it.

Cant be sure, as I normally only use this mod, but I assumed all peelers were called Marijuana Drying Machines to disguise their true intent.

Any possibility that the marijuana drying machines not be peelers? in my game every peeler is a marijuana drying station and i have some people i want turned into stubby worms
