Universal Adventuring Companion

Description
Adds a module that combines convenience features of various systems into a single unit. If you're tired of having to swap around modules constantly to perform different tasks, this mod is for you. The module comes in all rarities and will show up at equipment vendors like other modules. It is designed to be relatively well-balanced to keep from breaking the game, and as such does not include any combat-enhancing or ship-balancing stats. It is unique and only one can be used at a time.

It must be permanently installed to function.

Module now includes functionality from my new mod, the Wreckage Detector. If you do NOT want the wreckage detection functionality, please find a fork of this mod that does not include it here.

Enhancements
The module currently includes the following stats:
  • Loot Collection Range (greatly enhanced from vanilla tractor beam)
  • Docking Distance (same as vanilla transporter)
  • Deep Scan Range (same as vanilla scanner)
  • Radar Range (same as vanilla scanner)
  • Highlight Range (same as vanilla object detector)
  • Detection Range (same as vanilla object detector)
  • Wreckage Detection Range (same as the Wreckage Detector mod)
  • Scanner Range (same as vanilla scanner)

Balance
The module is designed to maintain game balance while providing the user with a combination of quality of life features that would otherwise be gained by swapping modules around. It is not meant to be a cheat, and therefore does not include any enhancements to ship or combat functionality. Arguably, this could include the trading system, however I decided not to because I like the idea of having to sacrifice some other capability to "specialize" in being a trader. I may add this in another module later, or by popular demand.

In the interest of balance, the module
  • Uses the same stat increases as vanilla modules (except for loot pickup range, because seriously, collecting loot is just tedious),
  • Is fairly expensive,
  • Requires a reasonable amount of power,
  • Is unique,
  • Must be permanently installed.

Compatibility
This mod does not overwrite any base game files and only adds a new module. It should be compatible with all other mods.

It would be nice if this and object detector would merge into one system

Hello everyone! I have written modern version of this mod, check it out)
P.s. now tracks changes to vanilla subsystems!

Is it possible the marking of wreckages gets super laggy when you get rid of the constraint on resource and size? (to mark every single piece of wreckage)?

A couple thoughts. Be nice if this came with transporter added. Also way too many drops. I have like 100 in my inventory and they are overly worth too much in sell. Get the alternate version with detection bing and no wreckage unless you want you screen filled with boxes and arrows.

Works nicely, like the idea of saving space for other sub systems and loot grabber is great. However, I don't seem to have a button toe activate the detection and sometimes happens randomly when I jump into the ship, but no highlighting. Though i am using a blue perhaps higher tier is better.

There are two other forks/versions of this mod that have been tweaked and updated to work with the latest game versions:

* Universal Adventuring Companion (2.2)
* Limited Adventuring Companion 2.*

The first is like this, but updated with the new Object Scanner system. The second also has an updated Object Scanner system, but does not include the wreckage detection.

The Module becomes invisible once equipped. If you equip it by right clicking it on the inventory it disappears the next time you launch the game.
