Guns of the Empire (6.2.2)

Description
This Mod adds 24 Gunpowder Units to the Empire roster. Though some are based on, or at least inspired by lore/fluff mentions most are inventions of my own. As a unit pack, this is savegame compatible.

Recruitment availability of every unit can be toggled from main menu with the Mod Configuration Tool

The Warband Upgrade system is built to cooperate with Warband Upgrade Ultimate

Smoke VFX based on the work on the highly recommended Extreme Smoke & Flash by Molcarat

Ersatzsolder

The first generation of line infantry and an expendable turn-1 unit. They have poor accuracy, but can hold their line decently.

Hakbutschutzen

The all purpose State Troop tier infantry. As riflemen they fall just short of a Handgunner, as melee soldiers they fall a bit short of Spearmen, but they can do everything well and come with abilities fit for different situations.


Ironside Guard

The Elite of the line infantry, with equipment derived from the legendary Nuln Ironsides. They are deadly accurate, with good range, and excel in melee.


Eisenbombers

The grizzled veterans of the infantry get to trade the rifle for a grenade launching blunderbuss. Decent in melee with their side arms.


Jaegerkorps Scouts

Light infantry skirmishers. They have vanguard deployment, can fire whilst moving, and are very fast for a human infantry. But, they have little armor and will be devoured in melee.

Jaegerkorps Longrifles

Elite Jaegerkorps can upgrade to the legendary Hochland Longrifle and work in a long range weapon team.

Bergjaeger

Bergjaeger are anti-Large focused. They use a big game hunting blunderbuss which can swap between a single slug and a multi shot fire mode.

Field Engineers

A support unit who can build artillery engines and make repairs in the field. They can barrage enemies with fire from their repeater rifles.

Thrice-Pistols

A ranged heavy Cavalry. Though they look like a Pistolier, they are not a skirmishing unit. They have limited ammo in their unique Thrice-Pistols, but the projectile primes an enemy to be charged.

Pegasus Pistolkorps

Noblemen at the rare cross section of those wealthy and magically inclined enough to command a pegasus, and skilled with a pistol enough to use one in flight.

Conscripted Leadbelchers

Ogre mercenaries or Ogres who have settled in the Empire who are now paid (handsomely) for full time Imperial service.

Maneater Juggernauts

Heavily armored and heavily shielded Ogres. Juggernauts are designed to hold in place and absorb friendly fire.

Expatriate Crank Gunners

Expatriate Dwarfs who use a reproduction of a revolutionary experimental automatic weapon.

Luftjaeger

An elite Piston & Sword infantry with a jetpack. They are defenseless while in the air, and should be landed to engage.

War Wagons - Helblasters

A generic version of the Black Lions ROR. They have the same stat line as the ROR unit but with a slower reload speed.

Munitions Wagon

The little wagon that turns any ranged army into killing machine. The Munitions Wagon can refill ammo and, in an emergency, detonate itself in a devastating explosion.


Longitudinous Missile of Fantastically Accurate Obliteration

A single engine rocket launcher that fires a missile with homing capabilities. Effectively an Empire Hellcannon, but with a fun missile to pilot manually.

Bombard

A specialist in walled seiges, both defensive and offensive. The Bombard has both a direct fire option like a cannon and an arching shot like a mortar. Both get a huge bonus against buildings

Light Cannons

A six gun artillery engine with far shorter range and penetration than Great Cannons, but it can keep pace with infantry and fire at a faster rate.

Firethrower Cannon

From the imagination of a forgotten Master Engineer, the Firethrower finally became a reality with technological development and the blessing of Aqshy. The Firethrower fires flaming oil-soaked rounds that burn enemies.

Hellhammer Cannon

The biggest mobile gun in Empire history. The Hellhammer has a massive range and a devastating shell with shrapnel that can do further damage.

Airship

The Empire Airship packs in significant firepower for its size. It has a crew armed with Hochland Longrifles, a Helstorm Rocket battery on the bow and a Helblaster Volley Gun on the stern.

Dietershafen Class Land Ship

The Dietershafen Class Land Ship boasts a deck full of swivel cannons in place of the large main gun and crew armed with naval blunderbusses mixed with those using the repeater handguns.

Steamcopters

The Steamcopter is a steam powered aircraft that behaves as much like a biplane as a gyrocopter.

Thanks to Ole, Phazers and Frodo for the constant work on amazing modding tools. Credit to LT Apollo for many textures adapted from WH2, Sythropo for the Hochland Long Rifle model, 9999999999 for the idea for swappable projectiles, and many others on the modding den for answering questions.

I wonder if there are any reskins of this mod out there that would go well with Master Confounders High Gothic Empire Reskin that would truly make the empire just as grand as Cathay.

so could you add that ironsides gain bonuses from state-issued weapons and improved heavy weapons cause its a bit ridiculous that elite imperial infantry fights worse and deals less dmg in melee than hakbutschutzen and their only advantage is more iron on them?

Ironsides and Habutschutzen should get the same buffs, but there could be some missing. I have stat lines on these units that deviates greatly from base game units and kind of arbitrarily cut some bonus connections just so the units don't too terribly overpower everything in the late game. I tried to leave every unit with a shortcoming.

Is it supposed to be like this that Hakbutschutzen receive bonuses from infantry technology, but Ironsides and Eisenbombers dont? Or maybe they do receive bonus but it just doesnt show up? I'm talking about tech state issued weapons and improved heavy weapons

I would like to get these up to date for sure but just found I have children 5 and 6 on the way at the same time. It's mostly my boys playing on this account these days.
