The Purges
Just a few observations/problems about the Soviet purges:

1) Is the Army Purge meant to decrease over time? If so, it does so quite slowly - no decreases by 1938 slowly.
2) Said purge also completely wrecks the Soviet army, making many divisions unable to maintain any level of ORG at all.
3) The fact that the Exile Trotsky national spirit must time out before the -1% stability/week malus can be removed makes little sense - a flat timer limit might be more useful instead.
4) On top of that, the Trotskyite Plot Purged? spirit does little to offset the huge malus from the main spirit.

Sorry if this comes off as a bit of a rant, but honestly the Soviet purges feel way too unbalanced.

i can't understand how to remove Purge effect ?!! it becomes impossible to play Soviet for that...

I know I posted this over a year ago, but I don't think it's changed much since then - the purge effect, AFAIK, decreases over time (though it still completely wrecks your army for a year and makes it trash for another seven or so), and can be fully removed with a focus that requires you to be at war with a GP.

The new tree just feels like it cut out content. Not improved it even. Well, maybe it's improved if you only want to make historical moves. I don't understand why no mod can create a realistic Trotsky in this game. He would have had very little contact in 1936 with any Russians. The Civil War would have to go much like the October Revolution with Lenin coming to the country afterwards. Then, Permanent Revolution would be integral to the Focus Trees but it's not meant as a casus belli for the world. Making it seem like a theory of constant warfare until one side loses only plays into the ahistorical pro Stalin version. of history

For exactly the same reason that France is portrayed as entirely politically incapable with a half-equipped army and a military industry less powerful than most countries in Eastern Europe - because of game balance and alt-hist paths.

HOI4 is a game. If Trotsky wasn't a threat at all it would be too easy to just... not do the purges and have a Soviet Army that hasn't been purged and therefore has a working officer corps and a large cadre of highly skilled generals. Trotsky being a threat necessarily follows on from having to force the Soviet Union to do their historical purges, otherwise it just seems far too forced.

That being said, has BICE updated the Soviet tree recently? Because if it has I'll need to check it out.

You'd be better off asking somewhere else. I know just about nothing about HOI4 submodding.
