Heartfire Version - Adoption & Plantable Gardern
Hi folks,
I wouldn't mind some feedback from my current subscribers about the importance of the adoption and/or plantable garden facilities from Hearthfire being included in this mod.
I've been experimenting with including the adoption feature as a separate plug-in mod so folks can choose whether or not they add it (especially important for those that don't have or want the Hearthfire DLC). However, after much experimentation, it seems you can't have a mod reference objects, script variables or other elements only found to another mod, only those that come from Masterfiles such as the core Skyrim Masterfile or the official DLC Masterfiles can be used.
In short, it looks like I'll have to make a separate version of HouseforaHero with the Hearthfire content included for the Adoption or plantable garden features to work. This will mean that anyone currently using the virgin Skyrim version of the mod will need to extract all their possessions from the house, move them to some official Skyrim location, unsubscribe from this version then subscribe to the Hearthfire version, redo the House for a Hero quest and move their possessions in.
How many of you would be keen on doing all that just to be able to move kids into the house?

I love this house! I lost it once before, have no idea how or why, was close to level 50 and had to start all over. So please don't change Whiterun, how about a new one somewhere else?

Rowan I'm currently developing a new farmhouse just outside the city walls that will incoporate various Hearthfire features such as adoption and planting and will also be adding a heap of new content such as new alchemical ingredients to discover and learn the properties with some new effect such as Hunter's Mark and Fortify Shout. There's also going to be new food items to craft, staff crafting and enchanting (not connected to Dawnguard DLC) and a tailoring station and custom forge that will let you craft some exisiting jewleryand clothes and a range of new mage outfits and other items. I'm still playtesting and fixing some buggy and cosmetic issues at the moment but am hoping to have it up on Steam around the Christmas/New Year holiday season. You'll also be able to puchase a cow or goats that can be milked and some chickens the lay eggs.

I now have a new mod uploaded called Frostbrook Farm that encorpoates many features from Dragonborn Cottage in the House for a Hero mod but also had Heathfire features including adoption and plantable farmland as well as many new features and immersion content.
