Performances Tips
1.Close all others apps including backgrounds ones if you can(some nowaday use notification wich use resources).

2.Close steam client window and disable steam overlay.

3.Right click your desktop , select graphic properties.Set the options to performance.

4.Run the game in windowed mod (not full sized windowed).

5.Reduce the game resolution.

6.Set in-game the zoom level to x4.

7.Run the game without the steam client.

8. turn the vsync off, how to at https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=423002737

9.Use the mod.

10.If all those tricks does not work , a new pc wont be luxury. I don't want to be mean right there but even with my i5 quad core 3.3ghz with 8gb ram with a 1gb integrated graphic card
after doing all that i still experience lag and don't have much more then 32 fps.

"Set in-game the zoom level to x4."
Bad idea.
Also i think all of the steps only works if it ran on a dual-core processor below 2.5ghz and RAM lower than 6GB given more core and more RAM can do more calculations.

It's not a bad idea and work on my i5. You will render less pixels to your screen ( range of view), it is like when you minimize the window it give more fps for the same reason. It is called resolution.

even the default x3 is terrible for mech combat and pretty hard so i have to over time change viewpoint depending on the situation especially how hard the game is at times combat-wise.

Increasing performance in starbound is actually pretty simple, install "More Threads", "Futara Engine" and remove FU because its incompatible with almost every mod in the workshop by now, and the ones that work will lag the ♥♥♥♥ outta you when you use them

if you wanna get more fps, use linux.
the game is actually coded for linux and the translation for windows is just taking away some frames.
