[BUG] 'Put yourself out of misery' not working
Gamemode: Freshly started dedicated server
Map: Crystal Isles DLC
Mod list and load order: Structures Plus, Mortal Wounds, Death Inventory Keeper, Tribe XP, Custom Dino Levels, Immersive Taming, Crystal Isles Dino Additions, Low Steal Icthy, Low Steal Pego, Upgrade Station, DinoTracker Classic, Awesome Spyglass, Dino Quick Recovery, Eco’s Garden Décor, Eco Trees, Lethals Reusables, Reveal Map, Better Waypoints, Access Tweaks, Dino Storage v2, Best Eggs, Rare Sightings, Rare Sightings Tracker, Extra QOL Items, Garbage Bag, Advanced Engram Unlocker

Session #1
Settings: (confirmed working in the in-game display)
[MortalWounds]
MortalWoundTime=600.0
MortalWoundCooldown=0
MortalWoundPercentChance=1.0
MortalWoundInvulTimeSeconds=600.0
ModerateCraftingLevel=40
PercentChanceWoundPerFortitude=-1
DinoPercentChanceWoundPerStamina=-1

Expected behavior: Choosing the 'put yourself out of misery' option when wounded should bypass the invuln buff.

Problem: When players selected the 'put yourself out of misery' option when wounded, nothing happened. Players were also unable to put other tribemates out of their misery. (Wasn't tested on dinos)

Who it affected: All players on the server (2 people, in the same tribe)

Sidenote: Even with the invuln buff, wounded players were able to kill themselves via drowning and fall damage. Not sure if that's expected or not, but it gave us some ways to mercy-kill ourselves at least.

Session #2
Settings that were changed: (confirmed working in the in-game display)
MortalWoundCooldown=1.0
MortalWoundInvulTimeSeconds=6.0

Expected behavior: Drastically shortening the invuln buff should let players mercy-kill themselves (and tribemates)

Problem: Players were still unable to mercy-kill themselves or tribemates. Selecting the 'put out of their misery' option on the menu wheel did nothing. (Wasn't tested on dinos)

Who it affected: All players on the server (2 people, in the same tribe)

Sidenote: Players were still able to kill themselves via drowning and fall damage.

Extra note: I had originally hoped for a 'disableplayerwounds' option so that this mod only affected dinos, but only the opposite was an option. It wasn't going to be much of an issue with the ability to 'give up' and die rather than having to wait out the wound timer if you lacked recovery potions, but then this happened. xP

Havent been able to replicate it. I fixed the invul grace period bug in a recent update. Now with a perma invul or no invul, I can always give up or get put down. No issues, even with your exact mod config settings.

The option does have an activation time of a couple seconds...Any chance youre just selecting it too quickly?

Other than that, maybe something like Death Inventory Keeper or some other mod are getting in the way? I wouldnt think so, but you never know.

I was pretty sure we were waiting long enough on the radial menu button, but I gave it another try while testing other things and confirmed that I'm definitely waiting long enough. I'm in the process of further debugging to see if there's any way I can get this issue to budge.

So far, none of the following have made a difference: unsubbing, deleting both mod's folders on my harddrive, and re-subbing; removing mod from dedi server, restarting it, stopping it, and re-adding mod to server (near bottom of load order instead of top this time); removing mod from dedi server, using FTP to delete the mod's folder from server files, restarting server, stopping it, and re-adding mod to server.

Next step is removing the Death Inventory Keeper mod, and see if the issue still presists.

But as a small side-issue I'd forgotten about, I remembered that one setting was showing up incorrectly on the in-game settings display. The default setting should allow dinos to become wounded (since I didn't turn that off in the ini), and I confirmed that one of our dinos entered wounded mode when playing yesterday. However, the in-game settings today and yesterday have displayed 'only players can be wounded'. https://imgur.com/a/zov0IR5

Bizarre test results, but I got it.

I tried removing the Death Inventory Keeper mod from the server and my own machine (removed/unsubbed, then deleted mod folders), and I was still unable to give up/mercy kill myself.

I tried spinning up a single-player game (same map, same mods minus Death Inv Keeper, same ini options) and it still didn't work. I tried removing every mod from the SP game one at a time, until... Mortal Wounds was the only mod I had active. And still, nothing happened when I tried to use the 'give up' option. (I did notice that 'players and tames can be wounded' setting was displayed properly in the in-game settings tho.) I removed everything related to mods from my ini and started a fresh SP game on CI with only Mortal Wounds, and it still didn't work.

I deleted my game.ini and gameusersettings.ini, started a fresh SP game on CI with only mortal wounds and completely default game settings, and 'give up' FINALLY WORKED.

Epiphany. I started another fresh identical game and changed only 2 settings - I enabled PVE-only, and disabled friendly fire in PVE. 'Give up' DIDN'T WORK again.

So. The give up/mercy kill damage seems to be blocked by the 'no pvp' or 'no friendly fire' game option. I imagine this could be fixable, possibly by coding the mercy kill damage as fall damage or something else that bypasses both the invuln buff and the pvp/friendly fire protection? Not sure if that's a reasonable suggestion, but I hope all this is at least helpful for you!

Quite helpful. It's nice when someone actually gives me something to work with :)
