Q What’s the point of this mod?
A To deliberately make the game harder

Q How do I manage resources?
A Read the above description and screenshots. But in summary, there are various objects and items, objects and augments that can manage resources. The first 2 objects you need to survive is a shower, toilet and a bed, all of which can be crafted with tier 1 materials.

Q None of the items work, are they broken?
A No, you need ammo refills for guns if that’s what you’re asking. If you used an item that uses a special power, then you must wait for that special power resource to recover.

Q I died and some resources are now at 0%, what’s up with that?
A Yes, if you die, the armour, special power and biowaste resources get reset to 0. If you holster an item such as a firearm, then the ammo counter will either go to zero or change. If you go into admin mode, the ammo will show 1000 and the biowaste is set to 0.

Q My game crashed unexpectedly and now the resource window is gone. How do I fix that?
A There is an item you can craft with your hands that only costs 10x pixels. Its called the “interface remote”. Click twice and you will have the window reset. To double check it works. Press the Esc key until the resource panel is hidden, then switch to an essential item or any other item in your action bar and it will trigger the window to open.

Q Why does the resource panel hide when I press ESC? Why do I have to press Esc twice to pause the game?
A This is a very annoying problem the creator has tried to solve. Basically it is impossible to display the resource panel without opening a new window. The resource panel will open under specific trigger conditions
• When you load into an instance or warp.
• When the player is holding an essential item or any other active item from their inventory.
• When an enemy is within the player’s line of sight. The window will open again after a cooldown of 3.5 seconds if it is closed.

This allows the player to hit the ESC key to close the resource panel, and hit ESC key again to pause the game. When the player resumes the game, the resource panel will open again if it is closed as long as a hostile creature is within the player’s line of sight. This modality is the least cumbersome option to allow the player to get to the pause menu and reopen the resource panel

Q I’m only interested in “x, y and z” objects and items and not interested in anything else. Why do I have to subscribe to this mod just to get those? Can you release a separate mod with just those items?
A Firstly, majority of the objects and items this mod is designed to integrate with the resource system. This would mean the creator would have to reverse engineer said objects and items to not interact with the new custom resources, which could take quite a bit of work. Secondly, perhaps, depending on how much demand there is for those items.
The creator if this mod has little intention to create subsidiary mods that offer a handful of this content. Furthermore he emphasises that if someone has an interest in a particular feature, he welcomes other players to unpack the mod and release their own content using these items as long as the creator is cited as the original designer.

Q Is this compatible with “x, y and z” mega mods?
A Unknown. This mod was tested to work under the conditions of the vanilla base game and nothing else. Please check the compatibility section of this page to see what contents are modified so that you can make an informed decision if whether or not this mod is for you. It is advised regardless that you backup your files regardless just in case.

It is the responsibility of the players to inform this page on a discussion thread for any mod conflicts. The creator of this mod would like to emphasise that he has no intention to play test this mod along side other mega mods. Be informed, The creator will ignore questions of this nature.

Q “x, y and z” mods already do some stuff in this mod. Are you going to address that?
A No. The creator if this mod developed its content independently with collaboration of some ideas with members of his discord server and fellow modders. If there is another mod that achieves all the objectives and contents of this mod, then go ahead. You’re not being forced to subscribe to this mod. The creator remains humble to feedback.

Q How do I uninstall this mod?
A You simply unsubscribe. You may experience an initial crash when you resume. That would be the items that no longer exist turning into “perfectly generic items”.

Q I’m very intrigued about this mod, however I just want to see what’s involved. How can I speed test whats here?
A Sure. Firstly, start a new test character. Go into admin mode by opening the chat window and typing
/ admin

Then you will be an admin. Then use the spawn item command to spawn the object “bunker”
/spawnitem survival_resources_bunker

The bunker, along side others, is what the mod creator refers to as a “multi-component-object” An object that has a script that spawns other objects. The bunker is a shelter that has all other necessities, including crafting stations from the survival resources mod. Whilst you are in admin mode you can craft all other content from this mod.

Q Whats the item spawn command for each object and item?
A best to follow the instructions in the above question. Towards the end of the design of this mod, some names are fairly ambiguous and suffice to say its a bit messy, especially when every object, item, status effect, projectile etc is named as “survival_resources_NAME”.

Q I select some items and I can’t see anything. Is there an issue?
A They are deliberately hidden. Curses and spells are hidden for aesthetic reasons.

Q How do the augments work?
A some augments auto consume refill items when resources are low. Others convert items into others. Read the augment description to get an idea of what they do.

Q Some of the weapons seem very over powered, is this intentional?
A Yes, considering the player will have a finite supply of materials, and they are required to craft various items to refill those weapons. The trade off is potentially running out of ammo with the benefit of high damage output.
