Water Freezes (Continued)
Bugs and Performance
Since I own the game on GoG, I am not allowed to post a comment, so here it goes :)
Firstly, thank you for maintaining this and so many other mods, people like you make this game so great!
Secondly, while the idea behind mod is simply great (and why is this not in the base game is beyond me, but then dev has pretty much abandoned the base game in favor shallow and mediocre DLC's and locking any content beyond that it seems), there are issues as listed below.
All of this was observed on 9800x3D CPU, so a more than capable hardware.

a) Bug when using moisture pump
Description : this mod seems to create another layer of terrain, so when using moisture pump you end up with soil on top and water underneath.
Behaviour : You can actually see it not only by hovering over, but the soil layer frequently flickers.
You cannot then build anything there - example with power conduits - cannot build waterproof one as there is soil, cannot build normal one because there is water.
Solution : Removing the Water Freezes mod instantly fixes the issue including in an existing save, ground under moisture pump range turns into soil, with water correctly removed.

b) Some performance issues with Vehicle Framework
Description : slowdowns when both Vehicle Framework and Water Freezes are active.
Behaviour - TPS hits causing game to stutter occasionally. Dubs Analyzer usually points at Vehicle Framework. This is also mentioned in latest comment by @ trocapalot :
causes massive TPS drops with vehicle framework due to constant regeneration of the vehicle region
Solution - Moving Vehicle Framework as high up/close to the core seems to slightly help, however only removing Water Freezes mod fully resolves performance issues.

c) Huge performance issues when freezing/unfreezing
Description - Game visible stutters when water/marsh freezes/unfreezes
Behaviour - TPS hits causing instant stutters. Very visible when playing Climate Cycle and having a season when temperature goes +5+10 during the day, then -5-10 during night, causing constant freeze/unfreeze cycles
Solution - Removing Water Freezes mod resolves performance issues.

Happy to provide the current save, where I have experienced the above - while I have removed the Water Freezes mod (sadly), I still have plenty of marsh/water/moisture pumps and Vehicle Framework installed.

hello 20 Jun @ 2:48pm
Have the same issues when water freezes/unfreezes. FPS tanks from 60 to about 11
Well, vanilla now seems to have water freezing capability (based on the info so far at least, still playing 1.5), but found another mod that not only provides that but also adds way more depth to the whole heat system:

TPS wise - I found another trick recently when using RimSort (way better mod management than your basic Steam subscribe option - I have the game from GoG and it works perfect as well) . Re-download all your mods. When comparing new re-downloaded ones with my old backup, it seems that during normal updates quite a few mods had leftovers i.e. files that should have been deleted yet stayed there, being loaded to the game as well. Instant improvement.
Just make sure to backup any hand edited XMLs etc, so you can then copy these back.

Another massive improvement were these - in vanilla the whole contient seems one big inbreeding grounds with everybody related to each other. Unfortunately vanilla stores all those relations indefinitely, does not matter if an uncle of a cousin from mother grandma, dead since eon. This really hurts performance and increases save game size.

Both mods can be used separately, but also work great in tandem. My savegame size went from ~130 MB to 65 MB~. Massive performance improvement.

Use this one from dev menu ("clean") when necessary, i.e after big raids, visiting other settlements etc.

I normally have the "force run on game load" disabled and just enable this after big raids etc.
