LOL. I checked every single technology that's even vaguely related to weapons, but I certainly didn't look there. Thanks, mate!

EDIT: Just checked the research project and there's no mention of anything other than the ship computer core. Does it still unlock the pistol or am I really having a problem with this mod?

I've updated it and downgraded the prerequisite research to Advanced Fabrication. It still requires an AI core, but if it can be obtained as a quest reward, it can be crafted at an earlier stage.
