gonna be real gang,i dont really see any issue with this mod existing,and on a sidenote if anyone has a issue with this being OP,then just like... make it not be op? its not really that hard to download the mod and change damige values or other values...

not to be snotty or be mr i am better than you but if you dont like it you can just not use it. some people might want this just cause. i mess around in devmode most of the time so just having every one holding one of these so if i dont see a threat they can just nuke it with no input

If it's as OP as the gif shows, why not just dev mode away the threats or play on peaceful? It's a cool groundwork to make bad shooting pawns viable but very poor implementation. Why do modders always have to make their stuff OP? Great concept, just balance it.

Very cool concept, I hope we get a slightly less OP version too. This would be awesome with short-timed EMP damage to help manage mechanoids without just dealing massive regular damage.

Could there be a version of this mod where it is a consumable akin to an orbital targeter or psychic lance? This way it could truly be a last resort weapon.

is there a way to toggle shooting the arms/legs to incapacitate the victim instead of killing him? the only options i found are to hit the brain but account for armour & the like or to hit the brain and ignore armour & the like?

the "problem" isn´t bound to kills... it´s bound to TIME, the weapon gets stronger over time for me... i´m so done and clueless rn xD the hunt down for that effect will take days. big oooof

ok growth weapon wasn´t it... found out smart wepon dmg can grow over 15, after countless kills xD it´s on 22 dmg now. and still no clue what is influencing it.. (with ~920 mods it´s a pita to find the error. but as it´s more of a senergetic effect rather than a bug... i guess i keep it as is.)

tested it in dev quick test.
new spawned on a basliner the weapon starts with 8 dmg at 54%
i´ve got growth weapons installed... could be that smart pistol reacts like one due to it being installed O.o

No, it's not intentional, and I can't reproduce the issue on my end.
This weapon doesn't have quality, so the quality modifier should always be 100%.
Even in the case of an awful-quality ranged weapon—which is the lowest possible—its Ranged Damage Factor would still be 90%, so I suspect the issue lies elsewhere.
Please test whether the problem occurs with all pawns or only specific ones, and also check if it happens with a newly spawned pistol in a new game.

since the new update when equipping the weapon dmg goes down from 15 to 9 (qualitymodifier is 61% equipped, 100% unequipped) only weapon that does this and nothing in the logs.
is that intentional?

I was testing it against imperial which use spacer so it just kept bouncing off, which makes sense because the pistol is industrial tech.

It's caused by the advanced armour algorithm.
