(Altered for version 1.1)

Just a bit of information to help you understand the mechanics of the mod:

1. HELP! MY VASSALS ARE FORMING COUNCIL POWER FACTIONS!

This mod does not stop vassals from forming the faction. Instead, it makes adjustments to rules and values, essentially making it easier to discourage your vassals from forming or joining the faction, and rendering characters with certain traits unable to form or join it.

The mod aims to be balanced, while at the same time making it easier to avoid having civil war declared on you every 5 - 10 years, and without having to either imprison your vassals or marry all your daughters into to their families.

2. UNDER WHAT CIRCUMSTANCES WILL A VASSAL LEAVE THE COUNCIL POWER FACTION?

- Vassals who are either deceitful, envious, ambitious, greedy or arbitrary will need an opinion of +60 before they will disband or leave the council power faction
- Vassals who have none of the above traits will require +25 opinion before they disband or leave the council power faction. Craven characters need higher than -20 opinion before they will disband or leave the faction.

In comparison, the vanilla game requires a vassal who is either deceitful, ambitious or envious to have +80 opinion before they'll leave the faction, or +40 for a vassal without the aforementioned traits.

If a vassal loses all of the aforementioned traits, the opinion requirement for them to leave will lower accordingly. Likewise, if the vassal gains the 'craven' trait, it will lower to -20.

3. WHY IS A CONTENT VASSAL JOINING THE FACTION? AND WHY WON'T HE LEAVE?

One possibility is that the vassal must really dislike you! The mechanics are like so:

At -10 opinion, a content vassal becomes a little more likely to want to join the faction.
At -50 opinion, a content vassal becomes even less shy about joining the faction.
At -75 opinion, a content vassal becomes about as likely as an otherwise good-natured person to want to join the faction, so long as they aren't incapable, or a pacifist.

Keep in mind that a content individual with 'bad' traits such as 'deceitful' is more likely to join the faction, although will still be much less likely to join than someone who is not content.

If your content vassal has joined the faction, you'll need to get their opinion up to +25 or +60 (see section 2 for a list of traits that make it this high) before they will leave the faction.

4. A VASSAL LEFT THE FACTION WITHOUT ME TAKING ACTION. WHY?

See section 2. The vassal might have lost a trait listed in section 2, lowering the opinion threshold for leaving the faction. Alternatively, the vassal may have become craven, immediately disqualifying them from continuing the be part of the faction if they like you by at least -20.

Thank you for trying out the mod!
