They actually show up only after half a year, with very small raids (to let you know its a serious threat and its coming). After 1 years, the attacks will get more and more serious.
Faster, more resistant, with more powerful bite and additional tail attack. When injured its acid blood would be very dangerous for humans, animals and some structures. Hostile to normal arachnids. As it doesn't belong to Starship Troopers universe it would be optional addon to mod.
I will avoid adding non-canon stuff as much as I can though.. But this could be a genetic rim creature though~ haha
Perhaps someday I can do a genetic rim add on and add this.

If I could I would edit them out of the mod download I have, but I don't know how.
Several times now I have had bombarder bugs land right ontop of a sleeping colonist and once ontop of 3 of my people I had hiding deep inside a mountain.
Edit: The ability to have a mod menu where maybe you could change what bugs you want to appear/how often would be ideal.
Right before I launched them, in my test, they do not fall thru mountain roofs...
