Not first time. Some days ago I reported about their game "Solitaire Beach Season" - many reviews with random letters
While this might be nice, the existing mechanism for reporting games doesn't seem to be very effective since I've seen and reported on games that are still shovelware/stolen assets/asset flips/etc.
If Valve added such a mechanism, to report abusive moderators, nothing tells me it would be any more or less effective than the current reporting system for games.
Well, if you're using the report tool for that, it'll be ignored for sure.
Keep in mind that :
- Shovelware in itself isn't illegal,
- Asset flips aren't illegal either,
- Stolen stuff is illegal but have to be reported by the legitimate owner.
I know, all of that is a pain in the ass, and doesn't help to have a better, more exploration-friendly store, but that's how it is and will stay unless Valve (finally) impose some standards on their storefront.
Wanna do some more efficient reporting? Then have a look at the devs behaviour : how they handle reviews, or if they're abusing their users in one way or another, or if they're abusing the devs they're publishing, and so on.
Then report them and maybe spread the word, if the story's big enough.
Be careful to not overreact on stuff, and don't expect Valve to react quickly, ever. They do act fast sometimes, but it's more the exception than the rule. Usually they wait for the complaints to pile up.
Basically shows all of the games you reported and the status of each. Out of 40 games I reported, only 2 were marked Yes as "Reviewed". So at least for me, it seems they look at only around 5% of those reports.
There is also a page for Reports on Game Reviews. I never reported any myself. It doesn't look like those even get a "Reviewed" status so not even sure anyone looks at them anyway:
https://steamhost.cn/help_steampowered_com/en/accountdata/GameReviewReports
it's worth considering that since Valve refuse to currate their store before releasing titles
anyways the last of my reports I could find that was actually reviewed was back in 2018-01-26, so yeah no wonder their reports system also operates on "Valve Time"
that said that was for Suicide Simulator which is now removed...and the next one after that was for some berdyev title which is also removed....so at least it's not completely useless.
it's also possible that some of my reports have been dealt with in mass deletings/removal of publisher/dev and so those titles might not end up being reviewed at all because the games in question has already been removed before they got around to my reports...*shrug*
