Misconceptions:
1. No the game is not dead on PC
2. No the game is not broken

I had 243 hours on Origin before buying the Steam copy (just to have my hours on counted on Steam). 9/10 would buy again.

There are four modes out of the ten or so that people primarily play: Clone Wars Supremacy, Galactic Assault, Heroes vs. Villain, Blast (TDM), Co-Op. All of which are easy to get into. Sometimes you might have to wait for a lobby to fill, but I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a match. The games last anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours so I think 5 minutes is worth the wait.

I don't know why people think the game is in a broken state. Sure there are some quality of life bugs, but the game is completely playable and balanced in the aforementioned game modes. There are balance issues in the other modes, but people don't usually play those for that reason.

I love this game, don't get me wrong. It is exactly as advertised, however, there are a a couple of critical bugs that ruin the game, and some players seem to have perfect luck and always draw the best cards out of their decks every turn.

Additionally there is a balance issue. The Japanese are super aggro and the game quickly gets old after getting it in the back every other turn.

Bugs:
- You can use buff cards on opponents (not that big a deal but why?)
- If you end your turn at the 20 second timeout, the timeout will continue and then you will lose a random card from the deck (even though you ended your turn)

This is a good RTS game, don't get me wrong. Players can build tall and wide empires, and there are many styles in between. The devs did an excellent job by introducing an assortment of mechanics, nation policies, and traits that give every play style equal strength in the vast expanse of the galaxy.

The being said, the base game is bland. There is not much more to do other than to research everything in the tech tree and then take over the other players/bots. There are a large variety of side quests which make the game slightly interesting, but by endgame, they are essentially non-existent. Even then, the side-quests get boring and repetitive after a few goes at the game. In addition to endgame, a wide play style is unbearable as the game mechanics are terrible at auto-managing planets. All is to say, the real game is in the near $100 in DLC. Even on sale, the DLC costs so much. I might as well go buy Jedi: Fallen Order instead.

Tl;Dr Devs did a good job an incorporating many play styles. The DLC is what makes the game. Unless you are ready to fork over ~$100, go buy Civ VI when it's on sale. Way better value

Early Access Review
I honestly never thought this game would come out of Early Access. It had been in development for around 10 years!

I really like the survival of this game. It feels a lot more "mature" than other games of this genre. As in, the mechanics don't feel overbearing, but they don't feel easy either. There is just enough of a challenge to keep you on your toes, but also let you play the game.

Easily one of my favorite RTS games of all time. The voice commands allow you to accomplish tasks with lightning speed and little effort. The mechanics are simply which allow you to spend more time playing the game and less time reading wikis.

Originally played this on console so my amount of hours played could amount to about twice as much.

I honestly can't recommend this game enough if you are looking for a vehicle building game. There are so many power methods, modes of transportation, goals, etc. that allow you, the player, to create whatever you crave.

There are also tons of quests to aid you in your creative style.

I do with the devs expanded the map a bit more. It feels small, but I honestly can't complain.

A lot like Fallout: New Vegas

Having played the previous two installments in this series (Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light), this game is a huge step up in the gameplay and immersion.

That being said, the English dialogue is pretty corny. I didn't like that at first, but it became less of a boner killer if I just straight up laughed at the dialogue.

Also, the Ranger Hardcore difficulty is pretty easy compared to the previous games in terms of ammo supply, but the damage dealt by humans and humans' ability to see in the dark is pretty insane. The trade off here is the player also deals insane amounts of damage.

There is a bit of a learning curve with traffic management, but omg is it so rewarding to get good at this game

EDIT: Since the original time of review, the devs have continued to provide content that us players have been asking for, however, much of the content is locked behind paid DLC. I would recommend waiting until there is a big sale when you can pickup some DLC along with the base game

Just like Empire: Total War (if you've played that). So the AI is a "little" buggy. Like a lot of the other reviews on here, the campaign mechanics are simplified a lot which imo makes the game more enjoyable since the campaigns are meant to be fast paced.

That being said, the campaigns are limited to very short time frames. If you are the type of player who likes to build up an army, attack, stop to reestablish armies, and repeat, then this game isn't meant for you--go with Empire: Total War instead. The game style here is attacking and reestablishing your armies in parallel.

But hey! This is a positive review. The game is good for what it is intended to be. There are lots of specialist units to chose from which can really spice up the battles and intrigue meticulous players.
