I enjoyed this quite a bit. It's a fun, self contained, uncomplicated, singleplayer experience that retains its identity true to the source material. It feels like you're playing in the movies. They did a swell job.

These are some of my favorite games, when I can have a well put together experience and never have to pick it up again. It sounds strange, but it leaves me with better memories for longer than most games with "tons of replayability," like coop shooters, for example, or any multiplayer game that has "season passes."

Alex Murphy Edition is worthless though, unless you want to support the devs. Which, frankly, for the job they did... They deserve. :P

In the words of britta perry and abed nadir;

"Like Robocop?"
"JUST like Rowboat Cop... She's a bad rowboat. Sink her!"

This is a rare time where I'll leave a review because I'm fat and lazy... But this game deserves a review because of it's really strange position of being neutrally recommended... I like the game. I really do, I have fun when I'm playing it, which is the most important part of a game, isn't it? But I can completely see why it has mixed reviews.

If you can ignore the fluff, or rather, the wasted effort they put into the world, I think you'd like it. Sorry devs, the world is beautiful and vast, but because of the nature of game you put the world in; it feels tiny, which is a shame.

Remember, this is just a personal thing... The game is objectively incredible.

But for someone like me, it's way too much. I'm so used to playing the tabletop D&D and only focusing on my own character, that when the game gives you a second... a third, and a fourth character to control, plus several to switch out to, it was a bit overwhelming for me. tbh, it made me miss the tabletop game more than it made me want to play it. I've been playing Kenshi lately, and the whole "individual stats and inventory" thing is just way too much for me. It's exhausting in Kenshi, and when I came over to this, it was even more so. I LIKE this game, but every time I turn it on I end up not wanting to play it because I waste time making sure all the characters are decked out exactly right, and since it's a turn based combat game based on chance, I keep getting shreked anyway by the masks in the Hag's hideout. Yeah, pretty much in the beginning of the game.

If it was a single character experience, where I can focus on just... my character, I'd probably be able to push through the inventory monotony and enjoy the jam packed game that is BG3. You CAN dismiss your companions but... That makes the game, more or less impossible.

It's a great game, incredible... If you have time and patience to spare, this will eat up your time with no issue.

It's a wonderful experience. There is a very thin line between having an interactive story and a game with a good story. I think they had a great balance here. You can't "die" in the game, at all. Basically, you'll finish the game, no matter what, lol... But It still challenges you in its forgiving gameplay. The puzzles are nice, not too complicated, but make your brain work a little bit.

The art style is fantastic, and frankly, reminds me a little bit of shadow of the colossus. It has a GIGANTIC gorgeous map with stuff to do IN it, but the only bad guys are the bosses in the game. Each of which are unique, and are fun to fight. There's only a few, but the game doesn't outstay its welcome. You could probably finish it a few hours faster than I did, but I went around and messed about in the world, enjoying the movement and the scenery.

There's pretty much no replay value, but the time I did spend with it, I enjoyed. Good job.

There's just something off about the combat for me. Which turned everything else off. Aegis' movement is a bit janky, constantly feels like her animations are interrupted when I try to change direction. And dodging is extremely pointless, you get zero i-frames. And although I know it's a souls like, it feels unfairly difficult. It's my least favorite souls like combat focus; stay back, wait for opening. You can rarely make your own.

I would have refunded it, but I straight up forgot about it for a couple weeks.

Sorry lads, I really can't think of any criticisms.

I love it. It looks great. It plays great. It sounds great. It feels great. I don't want to stop shooting. Ever.

EDIT: After pretty much doing everything possible, sans beating the game on rage mode and a few cosmetics and cheats, I have enjoyed every single second of this game. Easily one of my favorite games, period.

So let me break the game down in three simple lines;

It sounds like DOOM
It plays like FEAR
The story is you fcuking with the SCP Foundation

Yeah, that sounds about right... The game lends itself to insane DLC's and other stories in the future, ones I would absolutely love to see. There are some mysteries that I'd love to see answered as well, but more importantly, I want to just keep shooting in slow-mo, for all eternity. Seldom ever have I felt as badass a protagonist as I did here.

But yes, it is "short."

EDIT 1: I... still don't feel like it's quite there yet. I WANT to like it, but I have a strange feeling that this game won't be "poppin." I am happy to be wrong though. Additionally, they really want you to play with other people, because the prospector thing rips my ass apart. I hope they can flesh out singleplayer stuff.

Original: There's SOMETHING there, but at this point, this is a tech demo at best.

Keep working it, and I'll re-purchase.

I almost NEVER buy or even play multi-player only games. With the exception of counter-strike, almost all of them inevitably just die. No servers, no players, nothing.

But if there is a god, hell keep this one alive. The gameplay is just spectacular, even for just early access.

Keep it up devs, remind people how to make a proper battlefield game.

I like it a lot. It's pretty immersive, the mod integration is fantastic, and it's not afraid to take on the touchy subjects.

I love killing pedophiles in the game. I don't think I ever finished the birthday party map with a perfect score because I would always kill the pedo. I can't not. It's really hard. I also taze and pepper spray the guests because... they know what they're there for...

Yeah, i'm not sure why anyone could have the audacity to not recommend this game. It's just all around great. It's my second favorite boomer shooter next to Prodeus. Lots of them can hit and miss. but this one sure hits. hard.
