I am addicted to the Demo. Just trying different fusions and evolutions. If I can have this much fun on one level over and over again. I just can't wait for the game.

This is my honest review. As someone who loves looter shooter survival games. This was right up my ally.

They do a lot of things right, with the personal bases we can put anywhere and each zone has it's own resources to tap into. The guns feel good and impactful. Some more then others. Decent variety of enemies. Wildlife to boars, wolves and deer. Decent quests that are simple but unique. Traversing the map with vehicles, gliding and teleporting, so getting around was never an issue. Big bosses, dungeons filled with loot and were perfect size.

The first 2 phases was a blast. We just leveled, gathered, worked on our base and quested. Improved our gear and unlocked more skills in the tree for more advanced facilities we can put into our base to craft more stuff.

Each phase unlocked a new section of the map and more quests, and unlocks different matieral needed to craft the better stuff. Keep this in mind moving forward.

Now we get to phase 3. Nothing has changed. No new map, no new materials to acquire, we are already at the end of the skill tree and have almost everything filled out. Our bases are maxed out. All they did was flip a switch and now all those dungeons and monoliths you already done, well you get to do them again, YAY! but now it's "hard" Why would I care?

Everything outside these dungeons are no threat, so getting better gear seems pointless, unless you are going to bombard this world with tentacles like they said. But I have seen no tentacles or worldly events that would make me want to upgrade my gear to defend this new threat.

Here is the break down on phase 3
Giant tentacles sense the mayfly (you) presence, again no tentacles have been seen. Not new content.

The prime war and hard mode dungeons. Hard mode on repeat dungeons. Not new content.

All areas unlocked, they been unlocked in phase 2, this is just word fill

Acquisition multiplier increased, that just means they boosted the drop rates on items to help people catch up who just started in week 3. This was needed and not "new" content

season goal unlocked, you hit 1 button and claim all your rewards and have to wait another week.

This was just phase 3, so phase 4, is the exact same thing, and phase 5 as well, this list above just repeats, but you get pro and nightmare modes of those same dungeons and a few new blue prints. That is it.

So there is 2 weeks of content and then 3 weeks of NOTHING.

Prime wars, these are just big PVE events, you put some mats in the machine to start it. 40 people can join in and shoot a big monster. That is it. The thing is the only thing that hurts this thing is rockets and turrets that shoot rockets. These rockets are expensive. There is no point in wasting your materials on these prime wars. There is always someone richer who has the fire power. It felt I did not need to be there. I did 40 damage to this giant monster with my sniper rifle. I was a fly in a tank battle. The rewards are not even worth the high value materials needed to participate. Especially when there is someone out there with 80 rockets ready to go. And all I have is my 10 because I am poor lol.

Other then that there is no content after phase 2. So if you join even on phase 5 I am sure you can catch up if you dont focus on building your base and just keep it to missions and gear. People were worried they wouldn't have time in their week to finish the content. Trust me you can finish it while having 2 jobs and 5 kids. It's not that much here.

Other then that I got really bored after phase 3. There was no real need to do the same content but harder. Like I said there is nothing outside these dungeons that is a threat. Why get stronger if you dont give me something to work for.

This game was hella fun the first 2.5 weeks but now I am just waiting for the wipe. Yes after 6 weeks they wipe the game. Some things carry over and some things do not. I think the wipe is a good thing because there is nothing more to this game. See you in season 2.

EDIT - Cant recommend this game. After the wipe I was placed in the same map, same quests. Not much you can carry over since it cost points to transfer each thing. So you basically can keep like 3 deviants, and your drills/chainsaw to farm faster. I wouldnt mind starting over if it was a completely new map and a completely new story. But after falling out the sky and seeing it was the same old map, and I lost everything. Na im good.

Don't even waste your time. The game has the same missions in every zone. It's very repetitious, you do a few missions in the zone, then you go to the next zone and do it all over again. Then you do a dungeon once you do all the missions. The dungeons are ok, but they are so easy that people just one shot everything.

There are a few variants of missions, like defend this, kill that, collect these that drop off this. Very small maps with no life to them.

The shooting and the movement is great. The characters have cool abilities and it works. Other then that you have to pay 20$ to unlock a new character. You get the energizer bunny free but thats it. What ever you start with, plus the free bunny chick.

The game is super repetitious and gets boring fast. You don't level fast enough to match the big boss battles. I am level 28 or something and the next boss I have to fight is in the 40's. These big bosses are actually tough and you can die multiple times on these big bosses. The real issue with these bosses is having the ammo to keep fighting that you just run around collecting things on the ground to get a few more bullets, it just is not that fun to me.

Its just the same thing, missions, dungeon, boss, missions, dungeon, boss. They give you way too much loot and you break it down for what? the game has not introduced any crafting to me. There is a workbench but I dont even know what it does and plus you switch gear all the time so fast that you dont need to buy anything you dont need to craft anything. There is no armor, just these slots on your current Ascendant you just equip mods thats it.

How the guns work is you get a base gun then you get cards, each card is worth points like 4pts, 5pts, 6pts and a gun might have 32pts on it. You can put as many cards as you want on the weapon but once you max your points no more cards, and no duplicate cards. It's a good system. These cards can be reload speed, more magazine size, more crit damage and so forth.

So far it's just been the same thing over and over and I just dont have the strength to keep doing it.

What I love about season 2 is that the devs didnt make me buy anything for more content. Unlike Diablo 4 where they had the audacity to charge us for more content and 1 class after spending 100$ on their game. The only way I go back to D4 is if they give me the expansion for free. Until then, Last Epoch has been the best ARPG. Great builds, amazing loot filter, easy to make your own build, good graphics. This game is way better then any other ARPG on the market. Not full of greed and pretty balanced.

Great so far.

Lots to explore, GPS gives you points of interests to check out and cave entrances. Everything else you have to find exploring. Really big map

Graphics are amazing

Sound is ok, there are some sound issues here and there not a big deal

Melee combat not really in depth. Swing for the fences and face tank, or poke and prod and hope you don't get hit. There is a block with some weapons. It's basic combat.

As for survival, there is eat, drink, sleep meter. This effects your stamina more then anything. The only threats are just the cannibals and mutants

Story is meh, there are a few cut scenes.

Building is great, it does the trick, you can make decent log cabins and tree forts.

Big inventory, I mean REALLY BIG. Tons of things to collect.

Fun on multiplayer

The only negative is the frame rate is poop. And I have a 3070

I am the type that loves Co-op shooters. I don't really play pvp games so when there is coop game available I try it out.

I like the gun play mechanics. Good guns with good sound effects. Interesting classes with unique abilities. Amazing graphics and atmosphere.

Reason I am voting no on this game is because the game doesn't know how to balance the PVE very well. Way too huge of maps that take forever to navigate. No real sense to explore the map. Just go to the dot and kill things. Then the game will spawn an insane amount of mobs. You are literally just running around like a chicken head cut off. Your F & G abilities need to come off cool down sooner. Matches in PVE take so long. Like 30+ minutes and over 500 mobs to kill.

Sucks when a game feels amazing, looks amazing, has an amazing rogue-like concept it just gets watered down with poor level design and balancing issues with how many mobs spawn and when our abilities come off cool down. It would be more fun around 15min game and able to use abilities more often.

Paid 20$ for this crap. What they do with the game? Abandon it. No updates since 2020. Not worth your time.

Not paying for DLC to get back into the game. Release the mounts to standard and I might play it. But I am not going to jump back in the game just to get to 20 and walk around while everyone 20+ blast past me on their mounts. I paid 40 for the base game and another 20 for a skin. I think I sunk a fair amount of money and time playing this game. But what is crazy to me is that the base game is now 60$ ? What? and the DLC is 30. So if someone did want to jump into this game and never has they have to dish out 90$.

I just feel they are closing the door on our faces

This game is ok. The guns feel good. The damage to people feels good and just right. Not too much hp that you need an whole clip but not so quick that 1 shot in the toe kills them, it is right in the sweet spot.

The only thing I would say is the maps are too small. The spawn on the objectives are too close to the main spawns.
Too much garbage in the way. You get stuck on random things. Trying to traverse over fence or through a window is sluggish.

Then the game is pay to win. You can buy coins and convert them to cash and buy any gun you want.

If you need a shooter that is free in just an hour got the AK with a red dot and it's way better then the starting gun that I can get way more kills now. So it doesn't take long to get a good gun and decent sights.

I would say this is much better then overcooked 2.

Every day you complete you get random blueprints to purchase for coins. You can also upgrade some of the blueprints to make the same item better.

I like the single player but if you are not extremely lucky on your blueprints the game becomes really difficult when it comes to serving all the customers. You can be a well oiled machine but that means nothing when the game throws 4 parties of 2 outside your restaurant and if they don't get seated quick the game ends.

The game really opens up with multiplayer and having all 4 players working together. It's a fun game single player but feels bottle necked on what you can do late game.
