As of POE 0.2.0e I can't recommend the game. Not only it doesn't support ultrawide mode but if I mod it in even if I want to play on my own I'm treated like a cheater.

I got my fun from this game but for the love of Cthulhu I can't understand devs' decisions. No loot, no ultrawide, no fun. GGG, pull your heads out of your butts.

EDIT: by no support I mean forced pillarboxing and preventing me from utilising full area of my 32:9.

This games takes the best stuff from Two Point Hospital and Two Point Campus and improves on them. Quirky, funny, immersive - it's really engaging and fun. Lots of stuff to discover, possibility of full customization of your museum... It'll give you a lot of entertainment. Well worth the asking price.

On top of that it looks even better, has workshop support (lots of mods already) and fully supports 21:9 and 32:9 resolutions out of the box.

I can't remember when I had so much fun with a game from this genre... Probably way back when Theme Hospital released :)

Does what it says on the tin. Short and sweet - although the ending part wasn't really to my tastes. No technical issues on the deck, a good companion to zone out and listen to a podcast.

I also love the ambient sounds topside, they feel totally natural.

It's one of the best feel-good relaxing games. On top of that devs release free content regularly and dlcs are fair priced and varied enough to warrant a purchase.

I just wish cleaning stuff was as pleasurable IRL...

This game is a true definition of the term "labor of love". Released over 8 years ago, constantly updated by the wonderful author who not only listens to community feedback but also adds new features and never tries to monetise the fanbase. It would be worth it even if it was twice as expensiwe.

It's a cozy, wonderful place you can return to anytime.

There are multiple activities to partake in - farming, building relationships with people in the town, uncovering the mystery, building collection, house design and expansion, fishing, etc. All the seasons offer varying things to grow and do, there are seasonal events too.

On top of that you can decide who you'll pledge your loyalty to (ofc not Joja, duh), have a pet, take care of animals (it's a farm, wouldn't be completer without them).

Of course you can easily mod the game too - and there's a lot of stuff out there. There's also the multiplayer mode so you can have fun with friends.

The game has absolutely no problem with ultrawide 21:9 and 32:9 resolutions.

The factory must grow!

It's not as intricate as Factorio but for me personally this game is better - building in 3D comes with plethora of challenges but also things that make life easier. The map is detailed and lush, you can tweak a lot of stuff, there's also the creative mode and on top of that an interesting story that doesn't get in the way. And somehow it's also more approachable for me.

For people playing in 32:9 or 21:9 - get "Satisfactory ultrawide and wider" by RoseTheFlower on GitHub, it makes the game scale YFOV so you get rid of zoomed-in effect. Did a world of change for me.

No FOV slider and proper ultrawide support - the recent patch "supports" ultrawide modes by zooming the image instead of proper YFOV support.

I returned the game. And until this is fixed it's a "Hell NO" from me :(

Devs, you should be ashamed, TotalBiscuit would chew you out for that.

EDIT: 2024/03/06 - ultrawide is still f***ed up :(

This game is a real treat for people who like space exploration, sci-fi (especially things like Star Trek, I see a lot of inspiration here) and RPGs.

This time your crew isn't only a number on the screen - you can rename them and when they gather experience they can be promoted (and learn to do their job better - you pick who learns what). They're much more talkative during exploration too.

Graphics design was noticeably improved vs Nexus - everything is more detailed and beautiful and the scale of planets vs stars vs ships has a nice in-game explanation / flavor text too. Just talk to the science officer sometimes :)

Ship design module is very flexible, takes a lot of things into account and allows you to upload your creations to Steam Workshop (and of course use other people's ships).

If you liked Starcom: Nexus then just buy this game; it's more of everything that was good in that game. It also iterates on systems from Nexus splendidly. If you haven't played the 1st game then you can freely pick this up, they're separate stories.

Another very important thing: the dev is very active on community forums, helps with technical issues and is very customer-oriented. It's really worth it to support such companies, especially when they make awesome products. Dev is also pro-modding and is actively working on making creating mods easier.

Just buy the damn game please :)

I'm leaving my old review below - the dev fixed ultrawide mode and now it works swimmingly. I can recommend this game for people who look for something bigger and quite different than the original Supermarket Sim - this one has multiplayer (so you can do some shenanigans with friends) - and thus allows you to customize your avatar.

As for the game mechanics - there's interesting employee management, many products that are gradually unlocked, a lot of ways to customize the store.

Managing and developing your store is enjoyable and it's a good wind-down game for me.

I'm only giving a negative review because the game (and demo) worked well in ultrawide with YFOV engine.ini fix. Devs have broken this with one of the updates and despite community requests of fixing this issue no reply regarding this has been given. Game in the ultrawide (21:9 and 32:9) ratios is unplayable.

Example here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3313270339

The competition (Supermarket Simulator) has this working flawlessly.

Dev, fix this already and I'll gladly change my review. As it is now, I can use only HALF of my monitor to play the game, it's ridiculous. It's not Elden Ring.

EDIT 15/09/2024 - still broken.
EDIT 13/11/2024 - v. 1.0 announced, ultrawide STILL BROKEN.
EDIT 22/11/2024 - v. 1.0 released, lots of nice changes, ULTRAWIDE FIXED! And I'm gladly changing my reviev to a positive one!
