its really fun in a really weirdly monotonous way

compared to hollow knight & blasphemous its a very basic metroid style game, in terms of exploration; the areas are very small, extremely linear with no side paths or secrets, with a huge amount of backtracking between empty rooms. combat is very irritating and while the graphics and setting looks cool at times, most often it gives me a headache with how often it flickers and strobes. cool concepts & characters appear for one scene and are never revisited or expanded upon, they just exist to give you a key to a locked door, for example you get an upgrade to transform into a stag; this ability is used to cross three empty rooms and is never used again

superb update to a classic, improving on the first Evil Genius in every way. all the clunkiness has been cut down and streamlined, what you need to do is less obtuse, and you have a lot more flexibility in building your evil lair.
