Description
Update: I'm no longer going to be modding for Stellaris. If anyone wants to pick this up, please contact me first but I'll be more than happy to pass the torch on.

Slower Than Light v2

What is "Slower Than Light?"
Slower Than Light is a mod that converts all interstellar travel into a psuedo-subluminal version, hence the name. The original version of this mod was inspired by Pode's "Einstein was Right" mod.

How It Works
Slower Than Light changes many, many things. It starts with changing how fast Interstellar travel is, continues with changing mantienance costs, and plows through over 130 define changes, along with technology changes to reduce Fleet Command capacity and Sensor range.

The defines touch on things such as an expanded Leader Pool and Max Leader Capacity (You'll need more science ships and more scientists!), longer leader lifespan, AI caring more about distance, and many other tweaks. Take a look at the changelog for more specific information.

STL doesn't remove wormholes, Gateways, or Jump Drives. These FTL methods are novel and relatively rare, allowing some interesting gameplay for those that have them.

Mod Compatibility
A note on compatability: Slower Than Light directly changes some files (See the Info Thread for details), and being compatible with other mods is not a priority. If you want a version that doesn't fiddle with much, check out Simple Slower Than Light. Below is a list of major mods that are known and tested to work with this mod. I'm not going to list every mod that works or doesn't work, as I'd then spend all of my time doing compatibility testing and nothing else. Generally, if it's mod that's coded well and doesn't override game files, it's worth a shot testing, but I make no guarantees.

I'm writing a mod focused on slowing down early game expansion to allow more time and focus on exploration. I really like some of the ideas in your mod and Pode's mod, and I'd like to use the exp.1 event and modifier to assist with lower drive speeds. May I have your permission to use that event and modifier if I make the mod public? I'm following up with Pode, as well.

@[Andon], I'd like to look at taking this over or attempting something similar on my own. I've been playing around with component speeds, and it makes the game very interesting. I sent a friend request to chat, as I'm not really sure of any other way to reach out on steam. Let me know if you're interested.

Sincerest apologies, but I've been busy, and will remain so for a few weeks. I doubt I'll have an update for 2.1 - It'll probably be after 2.2 until I have time.

@Tsuyu Asui, I have tried and the answer is no, unless it is not compatible with one of my other mods that I am using, which is entirely possible.
