This is my current Age Of Charlemagne mod list.

-If you're interested in a real, gritty, NOT completely blurred out/cinematic visual mod. May I suggest you take a look at my Reshade preset.

Units
  • This gives you Sebidee's fantastic Charlemagne Expanded unit mod. Which adds 300 units and allows for interesting roster upgrades as your tech progresses.

Battle
  • This has Sebidee's battle overhaul which increases armour, lowers weapon damage and makes morale more dynamic.
  • You also have better formations, the realistic archery animations (less friendly fire) and realistic charge impacts.
  • Siege Engines are easier to set on fire. Towers can set "light" engines on fire, they will need help of archers for "medium" and "heavy will require everything trying to burn it down. This will make siege engine upgrades worth it, rather than bashing along with light engines all campaign. (This is balanced with his "weaker towers mod" with 1/2 damage + 2/3 fire rate so I included it in the collection).
  • I have also included stronger barricades, so now you can actually use them to defend a point rather than them disappearing in 5 seconds.

Visual/UI
  • The unit stats tab is reworked to always have stats in the same order and relevant archery stats at the bottom for ranged units.
  • Brighter weapon textures.
  • Aztec 2015 Graphics adds 50 beautiful new lighting scenes and some textures.
  • GBJ's fantastic Blood mod for all your gorey needs.
  • Bolder borders between provinces and other Factions as vanilla is rather hard to see in AOC.
  • .vhs's fabulous Natural Water Mod.

Campaign
  • My Building Economy Tweaks that balances buildtimes for 12TPY and reworks income. I found it stupid that Charlemagnes Kingdom made barely more than the 3 Region Danes in their infertile peninsula. This buffs fertiity based income as well as adds ratios to various buildings (e.g. manors/churches).
  • You also have Xerxes Marriage and Family tree mod. Though at 12 TPY its not as relevant.
  • Reduced campaign movement to better match 12TPY.
  • Various Sebidee mods: army stances, unlimited governers.
  • Your starting generals/leaders will get XP and have had their skills overhauled.
  • Trade is buffed - my building mod provides more resources and trade route value is x2.5.
