CLIMB MOUNT NARODNAIA
This series of scenarios is meant to simulate a Soviet invasion of Japan, after a joint Japanese-Korean-American fleet exercise is seen by the Soviets as a preparation for an attack against the motherland. These scenarios are not meant to be overly realistic, but instead are designed to mirror a campaign by the same name in Wargame: Red Dragon, with a few twists, edits, and additional content to make the missions more enjoyable and challenging. Have fun!
-All scenarios authored by Alejandro Reyes, aka Warhero101

While most of the action in the current conflict takes place in and around the islands and seas of Japan, several other areas around the globe have felt the conflict's influence. Tensions across the world have skyrocketed, and areas of stress concentration such as Berlin, Europe, and all the earth's oceans have seen a surplus of activities. Most of these encounters and frictions have remained cold and uneventful, while some have sprouted small-scale local skirmishes with sharp, deadly fighting between the forces of the two superpowers.
With the ever-increasing demands on the Soviet industry, veteran units and first-rate equipment are at a scarcity, and most if not all of these assets have been sent to the Japanese front lines. Other, less important sectors and borderlands have suffered downsizing and downgrading of both the quality and quantity of forces originally stationed there. These "second strings" have been put on the active field and are not only expected to carry the load the stronger and more experienced units had but are also forced to maintain a state of readiness and offensive/defensive capabilities should the conflict turn hot in their sector.
The frigid waters of the Arctic ocean have seen several submarines and surface ships operating in the relative safety of the ice and fjords of the north pole. These vantage points allow magnificent fire capabilities on their opponent's territory without needing to risk themselves. With the majority of the Soviet Union's boomers at sea around Japan and at the ready in the Pacific, several older models of missile and attack submarines have rotated to this sector. With the American forces closing in for a counter attack in Japan, these second-rate units are the Soviet's first line of defense, in what will be a clash of boats and technologies more than 20 years apart...

INTERLUDE TWO: SECOND STRINGS
Scenario Notes:
- This second interlude will allow both sides to be played. The Americans have a technological advantage while the Soviets have numerical superiority. Make sure you are knowledgeable in the way different submarines and underwater acoustics operate- it’ll be the difference between life and death, victory and defeat!
