Description
The Jomsvikings were a semi-legendary force of Viking brigands and mercenaries that operated on the coast of the Baltic Sea in the 10th and 11th centuries. The order is detailed mainly in the 13th century Icelandic Jomsvikinga saga, however there are several contemporary runestones that offer hints towards the Jomsviking's existence. The Jomsvikings were highly selective of who would be admitted to their band of warriors, and followed a strict code of conduct with such principles as loyalty, honor and vengeance.

For more information, see the Civ V Customization Wiki[civilization-v-customisation.wikia.com]

May only be built by the Jomsvikings, however any player that is at peace with them may purchase it with Gold. Replaces the Longswordsman (for the Jomsvikings).

hey that worked very well. I also saw a short YT video where i would just have do delete one file so the entire mod list would have been refresh, but your is quite easy in comparison. I guess its time to sit 6 hours straight infront of civ ^^

@Satan<3Cat You can use http://steamworkshopdownloader.com/ which will give you the .civ5mod file. If you use something like 7zip to unpack it and put it in your MODS folder, hopefully you should be able to use Jomsvikings

@pork bean
Is there a way to download your mod without steam ?
As far as i can tell thats the only mod which dont create a own folder like all the other mods do.
Satan<3Cat 16 Jul, 2019 @ 9:55am
the thing is, that the modfolder isnt there. I tried to resub but that didnt help either and the strange thing is that some of ur mods i install before work and some also dont appear in the folder :/

@Satan<3Cat Check your My Documents/My Games/Civ V/ MODS folder, see if the mod is there and properly unpacked into a folder. If not, you can use 7zip to manually unpack it!

Ah, I see. I'm impressed you thought that far ahead.

It is a shame that is still is mostly chance when playing against humans, but I suppose it mostly balances itself out.

@Silver1906 The civ includes some back-end code to determine AI purchasing logic! All AI civs have a base chance to purchase Malamenn as long as they have the gold, which the player can influence in a number of ways: better relationships with the AI such as a Declaration of Friendship or Defensive Pact will increase their chance, whereas having poor relations with the AI will reduce it. They also take other factors into account such as their war situation, denunciations, and number of units that they already have.

Playing with human players is naturally a little different, but I would argue that any player not buying up Malamenn will be putting themselves at a disadvantage compared to those that do. Regardless, City-States also have a small chance of purchasing the unit (rising if they are Militaristic or under threat of conquest) and can also be forced to accept built Malamenn as gifts. :B1:

I absolutely love this idea, seems very unique, but also a bit flawed. If no one buys any Malamenn, which honestly might happen against humans and with less AI it's possible they might not as well, you're playing an entire game with no UA.

Is there perhaps a way you could let the player influence it rather than leaving it up completely to chance? For example, maybe literally forcibly selling them to other players or something. I'm not a modder so I have no idea, but I'm sure you could come up with something if you agree.
