Description

There is a very large number of mods for XCOM 2 and this collection aims to prevent new players as well as old ones from getting lost in an ocean of mods which can be totally incompatible with one another. As an active player who has been playing XCOM since its release, I thought I would share with you my collection which has been tested and proven stable so that you can enjoy the XCOM experience to its full potential with the best mods available.

Hello Commander!

I'm Special-Officer Takeda. My role in this project is twofold - providing tactical immersion for our field operations, and keeping you briefed on the current situation as clearly as possible. In order to do so, we've had the engineering team update our entire software and storage system with newer and more advanced technology, recycled from our many previous operations (User Interface). As a result, we've manage to intercept a much larger flow of coded ADVENT transmissions from which we've learned a great deal. And there's bad news Commander. New aliens have surfaced all around the world as a result for rescuing you. Those new enemies are more dangerous than anything we've encounter so far (New Aliens, Many Fixes, Enhanced/Tweaked Abilities, Larger Pods, etc), they are bigger, stronger and more numerous.

Commander we need to prepare ourselves accordingly. We'll have to monitor our available resources very carefully now (New Weapons, New Items, New Starting Resources/Staff, etc). We won't be able to rush into battle like we used to and we'll have to work even harder than before to keep our people sharp and ready... The last thing we need is for everyone to panic. Luckily we've got some vets on our side that have been face to face with many of those things in their lesser form (New Class, More Starting Soldiers, etc). Their experience will be vital in order to survive this new... phase. The ultimate phase that will decide our fate once and for all.

I wish you good luck Commander, we are counting on you. And so does Earth.

IMPORTANT
Before subscribing to my collection, you need to delete everything here (keep only 'XComEngine.ini') :

C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\my games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\Config

Once this is done, you can subscribe to my collection and choose which mods you want, but in order for the game to work it will need to re-create all the .ini files. To allow the game to do that, you will need to launch and close the game at least 2 times. The first time you launch the game, close it when you reach the main menu. The second time you launch the game, go to the option menu and choose your preferred mod settings. Once this is done, quit the game a last time and from then on you won't need to launch/quit the game to play since all the files will have been generated.

Yet since this collection has a lot of mods, you might not be able to play through the original launcher (anyway so I've been told), so I strongly, very strongly, suggest you to download the 'Alternative Mod Launcher' for XCOM 2 : WOTC. Here's the link :

CONFIGURATIONS
You should know that a lot of mods can be tweak by yourself very easily and quickly, often only requiring you to change a number or a word. So if there's a mod you like with numbers that turn you off, you can solve the issue yourself rather quickly. For example there's a mod that allows you to start a new game with 40 soldiers. That's quite a lot of them. So if like me you find this to be too much, you can just go in the mod's file, open the notepad and change the number 40 for a number that makes more sense to you. Same with weapon stats, starting money and resources, etc.

TROUBLESHOOTING
In case you encounter any stability problem, crash or anything 'not normal' in your opinion after subscribing to my collections, follow these steps :

1. Unsubscribe from all mods from Steam app ;

2. Delete everything here, even your xcomengine.ini :

  • Documents\my games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\Config

3. Delete everything here (if there's anything left) :

  • Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500

4. Verify the integrity of your game files :

  • From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties, then select Local files tab and click on the 'Verify integrity of game files' button.

5. Clear your Steam download cache by clicking on :

  • Steam (top-left of your Steam window) > Settings > Downloads > Clear download cache > Ok

6. Restart your computer and then open Steam. Subscribe to my collections one at a time. When finish, start XCOM 2 launcher. Click to select ALL mods in War of the Chosen tab and launch the game. Warning windows should appear on the game menu. Click ok on all of them and close the game.

7. Open it again. When on the game menu, go in Options and Mod Options and sort the settings to your liking. You must do it NOW. After this, save your options and get back to the menu. Close the game.

8. Open it again and start a new game.

IF IT STILL CRASHES, it is most likely that your PC has hit some hardware limit and doesn't have enough memory for every mod in this collection. Thus don't subscribe to everything and be more peaky.
