Description
Short description

Adds 7 RoR gyros to dwarf factions (custom battle and mortal empire)
Changes steam and brimstone cannons plus skyhammer's bomb


Details
I implemented 3 gyrocopter and 4 gyrobomber RoR units with some unique abilities ranging from healing, ammo resupply, melee, anti-air, cannon to summon.
I tried to push the boundaries of TWW2 modding with these units, primarily for fun, and i here try to share the fun.
They are not lore friendly, however i tried to make them as probable and balanced as possible. Being unique RoR units available only at high level will probably mitigate most overpowering effect they can bring.
Feel free to help balance them even more if possible.

ROR units
  • Grimnir's storm
    "Elite air dropped strike team"

    I tried desesperately to make a transport chopper, however i ended up doing this, with a summon ability to drop a specific unit of strong dwarf melee combattants where you want.

  • Bugman's special delivery
    "It may not be XXXX, but for the dawi down there it's a marvel of beverage!"

    This gyrobomber drops beer barrels that heals friendlies on contact and around. They cannot move while they drink their share.

  • Gyrosupplier
    "Not your standard bomber, but it packs quite a lot of powder anyway! Send some ammo to your troops!"

    Another gyrobomber, this one dropping ammo. Effects nearby units. the replenishment takes 3 phases of 3 seconds, stopping the units while they resupply.

  • Slayer gyroaxe
    "These engineers lost their honor, but they had gyrocopters. It's gonna hack'n'slash! They don't shoot, but they are fast, and deadly in melee combat"

    A mix of slayers and gyrocopters. They could be named Kamikaze in another world. Anyway, they fly very fast, do a lot of damage in melee and sprouts steam around them at a regular basis. No ranged weapons though. Thanks to 김레가르 (Dwarf grudge tank) for inspiring me the area steam attack.

  • Gyrocopter (cannon)
    "Dawi engineers managed to fit a small cannon on these gyrocopters. The pilot has to load it from the back with some cans containing the powder and the ball. A bit tricky to do between their legs but it works!"

    A real upgrade from the brimstone cannon. The projectiles are close to those of the organ gun. Nice penetration for a skewer effect.

  • Gyrocopter (anti-air)
    "Fight air with air. These pilots have been trained to impair the flight of others and their steam guns shoot wide to stop anything above ground."

    My attempt at making some gyrocopters potent versus flyers, but in melee they won't last long. Better rely on other ranged units to take them down while these slow them.
    7/9/2020 : New passive ability "Steam Blast" activates in melee with flying units and burn them with steam. Very efficient against units of numerous flyers.

  • Gyrocket
    "The Gyrocket loads autopropelled explosive projectiles in racks of 8. They are stored in the back and loaded one at a time, dropping the empty case on the ground"

    This one is a bit over the tech of the dawi, but i tried to make it high tier, and to work as logically as possible with what i could mod. Each bomb in the back simulates a rack of rockets. After each rocket rack shot, a new one is loaded, and the empty case drops on the ground.
Secondary additions
  • All gyrocopters and bombers will now have bailing out pilots when they are destroyed. Don't expect them to win battles by their own though. It's more for fun.

  • The skyhammer now has 11 (totally new) bombs, napalm-like, enjoy!

  • The steam gyrocopter now shoots a wide steam spray, visually satisfying, and very efficient against infantry, much less against large and high HP foes.

  • The brimstone cannon has a new projectile, closer to what i imagined a brimstone cannon would shoot. It is designed to be efficient against large units (contrary to the steam cannon)
