Skaven assassins hidden in units

Description
Short description

Unit upgrade (scrap-like) for some skaven units, to hide an assassin in their rank. It will reveal in melee combat.

Details

SFO compatble, yes yes!

CA implemented the skaven assassins as heroes, however in tabletop you could hide them in specific units and it would deploy when in melee, deadly stabbing the enemy in contact.
Well, this is my try to mod them closer to the tabletop spirit.

I made an unit upgrade similar to greenskin's scrap upgrades. It can be unlocked with the tech "Eyes everywhere".
Then, the following units can buy the upgrade for 10 food and 1000g (feedback for cost wanted) :
  • Clanrats (all, inc. RoR)
  • Night runners (all)
  • Gutter runners (all)
  • Storm vermins (all, inc. RoR)
  • Eshin triads (+RoR)

As soon as one of the new units enters melee combat, an assassin will appear among them. You then have to move him around and attack your desired target.

Hope you'll enjoy !

Thanks
I want to express my gratitude to all moders for all their work I had much pleasure to play with, to get inspiration from, and to learn from, by looking into the changes they have done.
The online guides (like of thesniperdevil) were of tremendous help, thank you to all participants to their elaboration and for taking the time to share. This is really important.
And of course, thank you CA for devoting to Warhammer fantasy in such length, it is a dream come true.

Update? Can't seem to launch the game with this mod enabled.

Could you make it so its Eshin clan only?

Man I think what you are doing with these mods is really cool. that is all

Also, the fact that you can see which units has the assassin embedded in them kind of goes against the idea of the assassin. But perhaps that cannot be helped.

I like the idea but this mod makes fighting against skaven very unfun. I don't recommend using this.

I don't suppose you could implement some sort of cap to the amount of assassins an army can have? It's a bit tiresome to fight an army with an assassin hiding in just about every unit.

As far as I know, it should, but it remains to be tested. The script is there for it, but I've not played long enough to see if it happens.

A hybrid unit was what I was thinking of.

Several of my mods lately were about adding missing features from the tabletop game, like hybrid units or hidden individuals in units. Irondrakes with ironbreakers were not in my books, so, no, I didn't think about it, even if that could have happened in my dwarf mods.

What do you mean exactly by embedding irondrakes with ironbreakers? our comment on this mod would mean ironbreakers hidden in an irondrake unit like the skaven assassins, but by your sentence it looks more like my hybrid units, ironbreakers at the front of the unit, irondrakes at the back. This would be possible, but possibly with a change of animation, because irondrakes would throw fire out of their hands like kamehamehas. A unit can only have one projectile display at the same time.

If people asked me if this was possible last year I'd say no yet here you are blazing trails. I do wonder if you have thought about embedding Irondrakes with Ironbreakers?
