Description
The Phoenix Torpedo 3.0.1 is the result of the search for the best small grid torpedo, I spent an entire day testing, launching and redesigning the Phoenix Torpedo until it reached the efficiency that makes it completely worth using.

Questions likely to be made
What exactly is this?
This is a blueprint of a Vacuum Torpedo that I've made, it was properly designed with Ion Thrusters, Battery, Warheads, Gyroscopes, Sensor, Decoys, Timer Blocks and Buttons. Once you finish welding it (or pasting it) you will notice that on one side of the torpedo there's a merge block, you will have to merge it with another grid's merge block that has a power source, like a ship, or a station. The next step is the script, the Rdav's Guided Missile Script page explains all you need to know, it's quite simple actually.

Do I need any mod for this?
No. However, there're two mods that I very much recommend to go with this torpedo, the "MA Designator Turret", which is a turret that fires only a harmless laser at a target, it was just made for target acquiring, which is perfect for acquiring long range targets for the Phoenix Torpedo, and the second one is "Rocket FX", which adds this amazing exhaust effect to any thruster you want, it's gorgeous, it goes perfectly with the Phoenix Torpedo. But remember, those two mods ore optional, the only thing you actually need is the Rdav's Guided Missile Script (you can use a vanilla turret as a target designator).

Can I fire this from a large grid station, or ship?
Of course you can! Just use a large grid rotor and replace the top part with a small grid top part, and that's it - place a small grid merge block on the rotor's top part and then place the torpedo...

What's the maximum range of this torpedo?
It goes as far as its battery allows. But the targeting range depends only on the turret that you are using as a target designator, for example, the MA Designator Turret can target things up to 5000 meters away when placed on a large grid, in other words, you could launch Phoenix Torpedoes at targets up to 5000 meters away with a large grid MA Designator Turret.

I noticed that there are no side thrusters, only 9 thrusters on the back... Why?
Don't worry about that, because Rdav's Guided Missile Script is smart enough to precisely guide the Phoenix Torpedo to the target by only using one-sided thrusters.

I noticed that there are some screenshots of this torpedo being launched in the atmosphere... Is there another version of it for atmosphere?
No, there isn't. To launch it in the atmosphere you basically have to replace its ion thrusters with atmospheric thrusters. In order to make it more accurate, I'd recommend to add at least one thruster for each side of the torpedo, except for the front side, obviously.
