Description
Introduction

Do you love using mods? Do you build the biggest, baddest ships in the galaxy? Do you wish you had some more challenging NPCs to battle? Are you a Star Trek fan? Then this mod might be for you. Using Modular Encounters Systems I have built a set of NPC encounters based on the Star Trek universe that should hopefully provide a bit more of a challenge.

Update information for this mod can be found in the Change Notes tab.

Under no circumstances is this Mod to be re-uploaded by anyone for any reason!

Description

There are four classes of encounter currently. Space cargo ships are the most common; a ship will spawn and travel from A to B and despawn. If you fire on the ship, it will react and attack back. If you are already at war with that faction, space cargo ships will attack if you come close enough. Mixed faction fights are thrown in for a bit of fun so you can watch different factions duke it out. You can even lend a hand, but make sure to set your weapons to NOT target neutrals otherwise you may find yourself at war with more than one faction at a time. There is also an ambush encounter along the lines of the classic Kobayashi Maru scenario. Finally there are boss fights, which are optional and the boss ship itelf will only spawn if you fly over the GPS marker.

General
The mod dependencies required to make this encounter work are listed on the right of the workshop page. Without those mods loaded the encounters will not spawn and behave properly. You also need a minimum threat score according to MES for any of the NPC ships to spawn. To check the threat score of your ship; type /MES.Info.GetEligibleSpawnsAtPosition into the chat bar and press Enter. Then paste the result from the clipboard into Notepad. The threat score of your ship will be shown at the top of the text file.

@chouchydog Nothing bad will happen. I don't plan on changing this mod anytime soon (if ever) so you should be fine.

i may or may not just have deleted the files used for them specifically to spawn...

@chouchydog Modular Encounters Systems (MES) is the framework mod that we use to make NPC mods like this one. It has a bunch of stuff that players can use to "admin" the NPC mods that they use.

Typically, restricting which NPCs can or can't spawn globally is left up to each player to decide with the help of the MES admin toolset.

ehh whats MES?
Qarannia  [author] 8 Apr @ 2:30am
@chouchydog I think MES has a way to blacklist certain spawns so they never show up. You'd have to ask in the MES Discord though; I've not used that feature before.
