How to play
A high quality, versatile and mobile sub, the Arclite has a lot to offer: fully capable of both short missions and long campaigns, it features a complete crafting suite (and research terminal!), an impressive battery array and a combat shuttle.

Its weaponry is rather varied and allows skilled crews to deal with any threat, especially after installing the last hardpoint, achieving a rather good coverage of the sub; before that, however, the bottom remains somewhat exposed and it may be necessary to use the shuttle to deal with fast hostiles - not only that, but the variety of weapons can make it a bit awkward to pick the correct targets from any angle.

Last but not least, the battery array will take care of power fluctuations with ease and come with automatic recharge rate, preventing nasty overvoltage situations in the reactor room. That said, the amount of batteries means that engineers will have to focus on maintenance more than usual.

Author's notes
A medium sized sub for those who have a small crew and want a capable vessel that isn't adorned by coilguns: it can feel very nice to use but the weapon placement and variety can add a little bit of tactics in combat.
You can flood cargo for additional descent speed through the "emergency cargo ballast" command in the navigation terminal.
Remember that there are no shell racks on the sub, so switching to a railgun can be relatively inconvenient.

Other subs I've made:

Gunnarsson MS1 Modular Gunship
Scrapper Junkyard Sub
LB-99 Heavy Shuttle
Silhouette Light Patrol
King Layne Mining Cruiser
Samaritan Mining Freighter
Revenant Mobile Command Centre

I can't say for sure, it's been a while, but I think every now and then the sub, somehow, doesn't drain ALL the water around, so you end up with very small % around that add up. I am positive that if you load up the sub in the editor and move it'll run fine - if not, something has changed with some update I'd say. If you wanna test this, try opening all the hatches, there's a good chance some water will be drained down.

Yeah, that works great for going down, but up is my problem. Shuttle airlock is closed, no other rooms damaged, just the regular airlock open and it's barely staying level. Even with everything sealed, ascent velocity is slow compared to descent velocity - I gotta put the throttle a little above the sub to keep it level

It has a few big rooms, but if the airlock alone is flooded it should be fine. Remember to check the Emergency Cargo Ballast option, it floods cargo to give a bigger ballast.

Am I doing something wrong, or does this sub sink very easily? Like if the airlock is open, it won't go up

I actually think I know of a fix for the Sapphire getting stuck in the game, with it being caused (I think) by Transferring items while switching. Forcing the docking hatches for both the shuttles and the ship to have a forced docking direction fixed it for the Die Konnigan so its liable to fix the Sapphire's issue too. Additionally, the bots seem to get stuck in the sapphire a bit if its possible to fix that. They seem to get stuck holding the ladder/loitering next to it.

After disabling them it's all back to normal, so yeah you get them again.

Thank you very much, also do you still get achievements after disabling cheats or no?
ArchCrusader  [author] 28 Mar, 2023 @ 2:07pm
That's a bug with the game that happens if you purchase AND switch. You can fix it enabling the console: go to the shuttle, undock it and teleport the main sub above it (you may need to teleport your own character to the shuttle first). You can then dock (to save) and restart (to disable cheats again).

The shuttle glitches into the main sub when starting a new mission and it causes us to sink

With you on that. Sounds good, thanks!
