Description
Armed with a nuclear drone, the Scrapper is a haphazard mess of junk with a surprising amount of cargo space but low end design, sporting awful turret coverage and a very inefficient reactor. Supposedly illegal in many stations, how it entered production is still a mistery.

How to play
A piece of junk you can commit warcrimes with.

The Scrapper is a mostly illegal transport sub with a rather impressive cargo for its size; for everything else, the nature of its components won't exactly do you many favours. Its defensive capabilities are mediocre at best, with all of its armaments taking power from a single supercapacitor (remember that the discharge coil can electrocute you if you stand too close to the wall), while its mobility is actually rather good.

Don't expect much comfort in terms of design, since the 2 lower pumps have to be manually activated and there is no status screen (a problem that is offset by the sub's reduced size); the drone can be controlled through the periscope (aim where you want to go) and is very fast but it can only be used for recon or suicide bombing, thanks to its on board nuclear depth charge. Speaking of nukes, do NOT press the red button next to the navigation terminal while the drone is docked and armed.

While the Scrapper does have both a fabricator and a deconstructor, it lacks a medbay (with its relative fabricator) and is mostly supposed to be used as a quick and inexpensive freighter that can take down enemy subs with a well manouvered drone strike.

Author's notes
Don't expect to pick this because you want an easy time. It's a mess of a sub that can provide a good challenge (and funny shenanigans) to a small crew.
For your convenience, here's a short guide for the Scrapper:

- the lower pumps need to be manually turned on and off
- the lower docking port also acts as an airlock; be wary that it can only be closed and opened from the inside
- the doors and hatches don't automatically close
- remember to turn on the engines as you start the game (you can then turn them off to reduce noise or power consumption)
- the reactor is very inefficient, burning rods twice as fast
- undock the drone with the button next to its hatch, drive with the periscope next to the navigation terminal (left mouse to accelerate towards cursor, view switches when looking left or right), use the big red button for detonating the nuke
- not much in terms of supplies, but you can dedicate part of cargo to that
- when using the electrical discharge coil, remember not to stand too close to the wall (it travels inside as well)
- there are no fire extinguishers
- probably more stuff that I forgot

love the style! odd shaped, hard to maneuver, but indeed a special sub.

this feels like it was made by pirates in their cove in an effort to start an illegal line of subs
it fits the tone of the game really well and it gives experienced players a good challenge
