[FotR 1.5]: Heroes Respawn - Fall of the Republic Submod

Description
For those who love heroes!

Most heroes respawn on a 10 cycle timer when "killed." This can be toggled on and off at any time through buttons in the advanced options tab (Human and AI can be toggled separately). All the default special respawns remain unchanged (Grievous, Trench, Durge, Dooku, ect.).

Republic Recruitable Heroes
- When one of these heroes are defeated, their slot is effectively suspended until they respawn.
- Added option to increase slots for all hero categories by one, which can be used as many times as needed. Check the advanced options tab.

Exceptions to Respawn
- Mandator II: Onara Kuat (Pride of the Core)
- Tagge Battlecruiser: Sanya Tagge, Orman Tagge
- Lucrehulk: Krett, Merai, Doctor, Tonith, Tuuk, and Pundar.
- Devastation: Sai Sircu
- Subjugator: Shu Mai
- Exceptions can be edited here: Data\Scripts\Library\RespawnExceptions.lua

One Planet Start
- Heroes spawn at the beginning of FTGU single planet start games, matching the era selected.
- Enabled Republic command staff and clones disabled in era 1.

How to Launch this Mod
  1. Subscribe to both this submod and Fall of the Republic
  2. In your Library, right click on the Game, or click the gear icon. ⚙️
  3. Go to: Properties ➜ General ➜ Launch Options
  4. Set Forces of Corruption as the default (optional)
  5. In the advanced section, add the following text:

    STEAMMOD=2792708794 STEAMMOD=1976399102

  6. Please start a new Galactic Conquest

If you have issues, try to "verify integrity of game" files from steam settings, or unsubscribe and resubscribe. Make sure that the launch code doesn't have extra spacing at the front or back.

How to Edit GameConstants
(edit respawn time)
  1. Go to Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\32470\2792708794\Data\XML
  2. Open GameConstants.xml
  3. Find line (418): <Default_Hero_Respawn_Time>400</Default_Hero_Respawn_Time>

Compatibility
Unless they edit GameConstants too much, it's probably safe to launch this with most other submods like so:

Yes, base FotR is permadeath. Sorry, I misinterpreted your statement, this submod adds respawns for almost everyone instead of permadeath.

Wait, in the base FOTR heroes respawn? Sorry, new to this mod, i read it was permadeath. Or are you saying, when i add this mod, they'll return in 10 cycles?

While the respawn part should apply to old games, some features only work in new games. There is no permadeath 99% of the time. Heroes return after 10 cycles, unless another mod conflicts with GameConstants. The respawn exceptions list, which contains a few OP space heroes, can be edited.

Question, sorry if its dumb. Does this apply retroactively? I didnt know this mod was permadeath ( a very dumb choice IMO)

Added in-game options to toggle respawns for the human and AI separately (requires a new game to work). Check the advanced options tab.

Otherwise, the steamdeck has a desktop mode that can access files like GameConstants the old way to affect all factions. Turn on the option to show hidden files in Dolphin, then open .steam/Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/32470/2792708794/Data/XML/GameConstants.xml

Open the file and add -- (dash dash) in front of the unit names, or delete the names.
