Ω Mineable Megaroids (silver, letalium, duranium and platinum) - Extended Tech Tree Compatibility Patch.

Extended Tech Tree Mod.

Description
This mod adds Mineable Megaroids containing new Silver, Letalium, Duranium and Platinum resources to the game.
This mod is meant to be used alongside my Extended Tech Tree Mod and Mineable Megaroids. This is a compatibility patch to integrate the Extended Tech Tree Mod and Mineable Megaroids seamlessly.

This mod works as an add-on for Extended Tech Tree Mod and won't work without it. This mod can work without Mineable Megaroids but I would not recommend doing this as this will cause the new resources to be way too common.

The Extended Tech Tree Mod can be found here:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2946411143
Mineable Megaroids can be found here:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2888986724
The add-ons for Mineable Megaroids will function properly if Mineable Megaroids is also used.

This mod spawns additional mineable megaroids containing iron, copper and trace amounts of silver, letalium or duranium. The extra asteroids will spawn in asteroid fields and in the asteroid belt.

If you use The Extended Tech Tree Mod and Mineable Megaroids without this compatibility patch, Silver, Letalium and Duranium will be way less common than it should as Extended Tech Tree Mod doesn't spawn any of these Mineable Megaroids on its own. This mod fixes all of these balance issues.
Important: If you use mods from other mod authors that also edit the spawning of resources, things may become unbalanced again. Please notify me in the comments if you suspect this may be the case for you and which mods you use (including the mods from other mod authors).

.

Silver is supposed to have a rarity somewhere between copper and gold, duranium is supposed to be rared than tritanium (I'm currently still tweaking values for these) while Letalium is supposed to be very rare.
Platinum is more rare (and more expensive) than gold and can only be found in asteroids from around tier 8-10 star systems.

.

This mod spawns in more Mineable Megaroids containing various resources, but also include Silver and Letalium. There is a 50% chance one or several Mineable Megaroids containing at least some silver will spawn in any default asteroid field and some will be guaranteed to spawn inside the asteroid belt. There is a slim chance a Mineable Megaroid containing Copper, Silver and Gold will spawn and some Mineable Megaroids will have their content of copper fully replaced by silver. There is a chance of 20% that one Mineable Megaroid containing some Letalium will spawn in any default asteroid field and there is a 50% chance one will spawn inside the default asteroid belt. So it is really very uncommon, but also very valuable so be happy if you find an asteroid with purple shiny ore deposits in them :P .

.

If you want to further tweak the amount of silver, duranium and letalium for your playthroughs, I've created 3 more addons that let you increase the amount of asteroids containing silver, duranium and letalium.
They can be found here:

@Two cats on board:
"causes the UI to become overcrowded with resource numbers, even when UI scaling is set to 100%."
This is a known issue which I tried to convey to the devs even as far back as 2023 iirc.
There is nothing I can do about it except not add more resources to my mods and set resources to only be displayed if owned instead of always.

This is a great mod, but using your entire collection:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/?id=2946607362
causes the UI to become overcrowded with resource numbers, even when UI scaling is set to 100%.

This might be because I’m playing on a laptop with a smaller screen compared to a desktop. It could also be a limitation of the game engine — I haven’t found any way to adjust how resources are displayed, either overall or in build mode. In build mode specifically, the resource numbers overlap with other UI elements, making it impossible to read all the values.

Is there any workaround for this? My apologies if this is something outside the scope of what your mods or collection can address.

Version 1.3.0 adds support for new Mineable Megaroids containing a newly added ETTM resource Platinum.
Also made some balance changes to accomodate the new resource and how it ratios with the other resources.

These new asteroids will only appear in star systems from roughly 8-10 difficulty level.

I may tweak the ratios in this mod more often in the near future.

Due to the new resource, ETTM version 1.3.17 or higher is now required for this mod to function properly.

@Capt. Geneva: This mod is basically completed (for the time being), so won't require an update unless someting breaks, I decide on a reballance or if new content is added to ETTM :).

Will this be updated? Thanks for the response in advance :)

Version 1.2.0 will support Cosmoteer version 0.26.2 from now on. Previous versions will no longer work due to changes in how asteroids are spawned.

Version 1.1.1a is a minor update.

Updated the version number and the mod description shown within the game mod menu as this isn't automatically synchronized with the mod description shown on the mod workshop page.

No gameplay changes were made.

Thank you! :)

@CenturionsofRome: Especially trading other merchant ships yields silver coils consistently (the ones I traded in mid-tier systems often had 100 silver coils each).
But anyway, I've uploaded a cheating version of the silver addon which will hopefully be to your liking (use at your own risk) : https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3260733442
Don't forget you need to visit a new star system for the changes to take effect. Use along the original Silver Addon to increase the amount of silver containing asteroids even further.

Have a good day.

Either increasing the number of silver bearing asteroids or the amount of silver per asteroid
