DMO_CWN, DMOrchard's Cold War NATO

Description
This mod attempts to recreate the armed forces of various NATO members during the late Cold War with a focus on retextured Creator DLC assets. Look for BLUFOR factions with [CWN] prefix in Eden/Zeus asset menus.

[CWN] factions...
USAREUR - US Army Europe, circa 1983
  • Dependent on the US85 faction from CSLA-IC cDLC (or compatibility data) for character uniforms, gear, and weapons.
  • Load alongside the DCX_IC mod to add vehicles from the US85 faction, retextured in MERDC camouflage where appropriate.
  • Additional vehicles and static weapons added when loaded alongside the DCX_VN mod
  • CH-53D is added when the DCX_GM mod is loaded
  • see full lists of vehicles in the change notes

CFE - Canadian Forces Europe, circa 1986

BAOR - British Army of the Rhine, circa 1986

Recommended "soft-dependency" mods...

Next update...
  • Add CFE and BAOR unit groups to Eden & Zeus menus.
  • Add static Javelin AA launchers where applicable
  • Further development of the factions
  • Explore alternative soft dependencies for uniforms, gear, and weapons
  • Retexture the Leopard 2A4 in the CLV and UAF mods and configure them into GM cDLC's West German faction

I believe so. I'm not familiar with the most recent incarnation of Antistasi, but in prior versions I know it was just a matter of editing the mission config files.

are your mods antistasi compatible?

Known, thanks.

FYI, Firewill has a real F18A which are more suitable for the Canadians than the Super Hornets youve retextured

Maybe. MERDC is time-consuming, and I tend to focus on easy/quick tasks first - of which there are lots. I'm currently taking a break from Arma modding though, with the intention of resuming in the coming weeks/months.

Are you going to add the MERDC camo on the jeeps for the US faction?

Depends on which faction(s) most appeal to you. For instance, if you want to use the BAOR in a mission, you should launch Arma with the SOG PF cDLC, and my DCX_VN mod at the very least. But I would also recommend my DVR and DCX_RF mods as well as Phantom Hawk's Blowpipe and Javelin mods.

No cDLC or mod is a "hard" dependency, which is why none are listed as "requirements". Sorry for the confusion, but it is what it is :)

what mods i need for this?
dmorchard  [author] 1 Aug, 2024 @ 9:46am
Absolutely! It is something I've been planning from the start, but early on JB was missing vests and other gear that would have made it possible. I think I can probably do it now, but it's just one of many things on my to-do list.

Question, would it be possible to use the uniforms and gear from Jamies Basics as at least an optional dependency instead of CSLA Iron curtain?
