Description

This mod contains edits to vanilla game and modder's Ruins backgrounds to make them more immersive and darker.

Here's a list of what this mod provides:
• Gives the Necromancer and Prophet their own unique boss backgrounds.
• Edited the secret room to be The Collector's storage room.
• 60 hallway backgrounds.
• 9 end of hallway door backgrounds.
• 4 new room backgrounds.
• 11 edited vanilla room backgrounds.
• 7 edited modder's room backgrounds.
• Edited corridor background from Jefuty to be more vibrant and added some lighting.
• Added animated clouds to the corridor mid-background.
• Edited end of hallway background.
• Edited loading screens to match the new backgrounds.
• Minor edits to curios found in the Ruins.


Boss backgrounds are now tied to their respective quests. This means there is no longer a need for patches for mods that edit bosses.
If you come across an uncommon scenario where you still need a patch. feel free to request it in the comments.

Mod List Order
If you're using other mods that make changes to areas, then check this Mod Load Order & Compatibility guide to help you determine the mod load order or to see if there are mods you don't need. TLDR: The safest bet is to simply put this mod above such mods.


Assets used were from game files and listed modders. If you don't like the edits I made, then I highly recommend to check their work.

Swapping the exe file should be enough. Using the monster command, in my experience, just reduces load times, but it causes a short stutter every time combat begins (because monsters are loaded during encounters instead of when you enter the dungeon).

This helps prevent crashes and asset death (blank white textures) when you have too many big mods.

@AmaraSN I love your whole Immersive Area mods, impressive work! But I have to warn that, at Champion Level, I was forced to disinstall the Immersive Ruins during the dungeon of the Necromancer otherwise the game will crash. This morning happened the same, I was doin a simple quest at Level 3 on the Warrens, and the game crashed, and to end the quest, I was forced to disinstall the Immersive Weald. Do you need more info's about the other mods I have installed? Hope that those warnings could be an help for you!

This is an amazing mod that I didn't know I needed. The artwork is stunning and well integrated. Thank you for the effort and care you put into this.
