Description
Adds a Fisherman unit. Compatible with Resource Compendium.
- Can improve resources in lakes or other areas inaccessible by Workboats.
- Unlocks with Sailing (or Fishing). Costs the same as a Workboat. Expended on use.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
The Fisherman unit is NOT included in Gaia's Core Mod or Sapiens, as it serves no functional purpose with these mods, since embarked Workers can be converted to Workboats at no cost.
Use this for compatibility with Resource Compendium or if you just want a Fisherman.
LANGUAGE SUPPORT
Fully localized in: English, French, German, Spanish, Korean, and Russian.

Never mind, now it suddenly works - after I fixed a completely unrelated SQL error from another mod.

Doesn't work for me either, no option to convert a fisherman to fishing boats when embarked.

Hey, so in my games so far, when my workers are embarked on water, I cannot be find an option to convert the workers to work boats.

@naylor123: Thanks, glad you’re enjoying the mods! The Fisherman unit isn’t included in Core Mod or Sapiens , since in those mods, embarked Workers can be converted to Workboats at no cost - even on lakes. So the Fisherman isn’t needed there.

Is this included in the core mod or sapiens? I never saw it before. I love the idea of adding fishing boats to lakes where the workboat cannot get to. I recently saw a let's play from marbozir playing sapiens and it got me into playing civ 5 again. Thank you for all your brilliant mods and hard work! Very much appreciated.

UPDATE v544 : Fisherman can no longer repair land improvements, can only be used like a Work Boat , and is consumed upon use (this behavior was already in place).

Could you make a version of this where they can't make land improvements and are consumed when used? I dont want to change the game too much just want to be able to use Fish somewhere workboats cant get to.

UPDATE: Now includes translations for Spanish and Korean.
