Custom map: Caravan World

World Caravan - Maybe required mods

Description
A map designed with the idea of being a nomad colony escaping to a ship on the other side of the planet, cross forest, desert, ice sheets, mountains and more to reach it while taking detours to item stashes to help in your adventure.

The starting point is intended to be on the small continent (seen on the 2nd picture) on the left of it, in the temperate meadow.

IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ

This map requires to use worldedit 2.0 to create the map but as the mod is quite buggy you'll need to follow those steps:
- Create a new colony, selecting the "caravan world" generation after choosing your scenario
- After having selected your starting tile, ideologion and pawns, you'll end up on a fully foggy map
- Use dev mode to "Clear All Fog"
- Save your game
- Remove worldedit from your game and restart
- You're good to go :D

Map was designed with the "Intended mods" collection in mind for the best experience, you *SHOULD* be able to only use the required mods but be aware that i might have missed a mod somewhere, if you find one of them, let me know in comments and i'll add it to the list.

IF YOU WANNA PLAY IT FOR THE ADVENTURE ACROSS THE MAP :

Transport Pods and Pods Launcher are meant to be found in item stash to cross from one continent to another only, you could definitely use them to skip stuff but where's the adventure in that (transport pods are limited in total so you might have to leave some animals and stuff behind if you don't get enough or overuse them without planning the next crossing.
Not putting every "maybe required" mods will results in less/no items in item stash.

Scenario is in the Intended mods collection

Ideology sadly cannot be uploaded on workshop afaik so it can be downloaded here : https://drive.google.com/file/d/11p3mnQ0s_2VOKG5hhNeczC2t9b6R-f2b/view

Ideology will require the various ideology mods from the intended mods collection, place the .rid file in AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios\Ideos

IF YOU WANNA PLAY IT JUST FOR A NICE WORLD MAP :

You can remove minimify everything (it will make uninstalled items in stash not installable but from test, no crash) and you should be able to remove the vanilla extended framework and psycasts (item stash will be very empty)

You'll get errors from missing items but nothing that should be bad, just the game feeling confused first time around.

Biomes mods are all required, they're used in the map to give a lot more variety.

Compatibilities :
- Any mods adding more biomes or factions will likely not work properly since everything on the world map is fixed.
- CE compatible??? probably? this is just a world map, so unless one of the necessary mods i used for it isn't, should be fine
- dunno about anything else

Known Issues :

- Not from the map but from worldedit, removing it seems to cause errors when loading a save/map to sometimes make the debug log extremely laggy, just close the debug log or click on "clear" and it'll go back to be perfectly fine. I have NO idea why some lines in the logs would make the game slow to 1-5fps but it happens??? just clear it and move on really
- It's likely i have missed a few tiles here and there that'll have a weird value on something like temp, just pretend you saw nothing and settle on one adjacent :'D

That's gotta be by far the most realistic looking land masses I've ever seen in Rimworld. Crazy good work.

all the mods adding biomes are required, i have used them to put a large variety if biomes across the map
minify everything can be removed but u'll find uninstalled items in item stash across the world that u will he unable to reinstall
if you don't like it cuz of the items weighting 1kg, use better weight

hey man nice mod this si something i will give it a try someday but i gotta ask the "required content" mods in the right like Biomes! and minify everything are really that necessary to work with the mod or are suggestions because the mod was intended like that?? i dont like some mods in that list thats why im asking

@verymulch just the modlist i made for the friend i made the map for originally ngl, kinda forgot it was in the middle of all the other mods for making caravan better, u can definitely not use it won't change anything

@guy762 yeah built it all myself from a world with only ocean :D, there is a brush so you can fill bigger areas than tile by tile fortunately, but i still had to go back a lot for the detailing, worldedit allow you to define any factions, settlements , special places, it's really nice

I've been wondering if something like this was possible in Rimworld...

Did you build all the continents tile-by-tile yourself? Are you able to get the factions to reliably spawn in the same positions on every new game? This is extraordinarily impressive work! Especially that canyon(?) continent with the little archipelago in the bottom corner. This could very well be turned into the map for a whole Final Fantasy-style game
