WildSpawn - A Progression: Agriculture Preset

Description
This mod adds wild-spawning plants from numerous mods to various biomes.

Why?

WildSpawn was designed with mods like Progression: Agriculture or SeedsPlease in mind, as a way to ensure that most starts and scenarios have access to a few fruits and vegetables, something that can be processed into a drug or alcohol, a couple of flowers, and a couple of utility crops (cloth, grain, condiments, etc). The idea is not for there to be enough wild food for you to sustain a colony, but for you to be able to find enough to make seeds, start your own farms, and engage with the other systems in your mod list without feeling held back by your inability to find the right seed bundles for sale or reward.

In addition, to fit with the spirit of "progression," Medieval Overhaul users will find their alchemy plants are now scattered across many biomes instead of all of them being available in every cool-to-temperate biome. Only one of the five herbal medicines (including healroot!) remain available in each. Medicine changes are ONLY made if MO is present; healroot is not touched unless there's something to replace it with.

Complete "coverage" will require numerous mods, but those who are missing some mods don't need to worry; there are no hard requirements here, but I didn't put in backup crops, so you won't have a full selection either.

Full details about plants added follow below. If you disagree with any of my choices, or you want to cover different biomes or use different mods to cover them, I recommend the excellent Choose Wild Plant Spawns mod to tweak everything to your liking. This mod is just an easy install-and-go preset designed with Ferny's Progression Modpack in mind.

Mods and biomes

Want to pick your start based on crops and/or want to know where you'll need to caravan to hunt down that thing you want? Check the table below!

Note: Forage crops (Berries, Agave, etc) are not listed here, but they're still present and untouched. Fruit trees added by VPE were not altered, but they're included here for reference. Sorry, you still have to get lucky to find Devilstrand!

How does this work with modded biomes (like from "More Vanilla Biomes") and the ones from the new DLC? Is there a mod option to change the spawned plants?

@ruler_ruler_hi4_seeker_4_seeker I addressed this literally just 4 comments before yours
I was wondering: have you seen the VV - New Harvest mod? If so, will compatibility be added for this? In the meantime, how does one make this mod compatible with other such mods?

Ignore this one...you will see this prick in many good mods with the same beheavior. Take your time.

I'm not one of those authors who just updates the tag and hopes it'll work, I actually test and check for changes in the mods I'm hooking into.

Aaaand not one single mod plant this thing spawns has been updated to 1.6, so you can calm the actual f down.

@Iirly As stated in the description: "If you disagree with any of my choices, or you want to cover different biomes or use different mods to cover them, I recommend the excellent Choose Wild Plant Spawns mod to tweak everything to your liking. This mod is just an easy install-and-go preset designed with Ferny's Progression Modpack in mind."

I'm not really interested in digging through 50 new plant defs, researching what biomes they should appear in, and trying to bend the results of that research in such a way that the plants are distributed in a fair and potentially interesting way (like in the above table). It would be much better for you guys if someone invested in New Harvest just forks my mod. It's an XML-only mod with an open license, so it'd be a good learning project.

@harmonea would you consider adding the plants from the mod New Harvest to this? It's a fairly new mod that adds more new plants including new types of plants used for early game building materials like Rattan and such.

will this mod work on mid-game save?
