Description
VV - New Harvest
Version: 4.4
RimWorld has always been one of my favorite games — a place where storytelling, creativity, and chaos come together in the best possible way. For years, I dreamed of creating something for it, something personal. VV – New Harvest is my very first mod, and it’s the result of that long-time passion finally taking shape. It started as a simple idea: more plants, more color, more farming joy. But it quickly grew into a much bigger project — one I’m proud to share with you. Whether you’re a farming fanatic like me or just want new things to grow, I hope you enjoy what I’ve put together!
What is VV – New Harvest?
VV – New Harvest transforms your RimWorld experience with a massive botanical boost — 50 fresh plants, thoughtfully grouped into four exciting categories to enrich your colony’s farming and resources.

🌾 Garden Crops
Hungry colonists? No problem. Grow a colorful mix of grains, vegetables, and wild edibles that’ll spice up your meals and fill your fields with life.
Millet, Teff, Amaranth, Quinoa, White Turnip, Parsnip, Leek, Black Bean, Broccoli, Spinach, Artichoke, Asparagus, Red Cabbage, Dragon Fruit, Blackcurrant, Rosehip and Blackberry.

🌳 Trees
Build orchards full of exotic trees. Collect fruits and nuts — or just enjoy the view. These trees bring beauty and bounty.
Sour Cherry, Apricot, Quince, Medlar, Mulberry, Papaya, Grapefruit, Pomegranate, Durian, Walnut, Hazelnut, Jabuticaba, Cashew, Chestnut, Pecan, Stone Pine, Lime, Persimmon and Sugar Maple.

🐃 Forage Crops
Fast-growing forage plants to keep your livestock happy and well-fed.
Alfalfa, Clover and Timothy Grass.

🏭 Industrial Crops
Plants with great potential. These plants aren’t just eye candy — they supply fibers for clothes, tough wood for building, and a bunch of awesome materials that kick your colony’s industry into high gear.
Ebony, Mahogany, Rosewood and Cedar for new wood types.
Cork, Rubber, Rattan and Reed for new universal resources.
Jute, Ramie and White Mulberry for new textile resources.

💥 But wait — there’s more! VV – New Harvest also adds 11 brand-new floor types to decorate and customize your colony like never before.

VV - New Harvest 4.4
I have fixed a critical issue causing errors for players without the latest DLC that introduces the Grasslands and LavaField biomes.
This update implements conditional patches to prevent errors when those biomes are not present.

If you continue to experience errors or encounter any other issues, please report them in the designated discussion thread or in the comments below.

Thank you for your patience and support.

@moo - I'm so sorry about that, I thought there wouldn't be any mistakes! I'll fix it as soon as I can!

For those without the DLC, these show:
- Verse.PatchOperationAdd(xpath="/Defs/BiomeDef[defName="Grasslands"]/wildPlants"): Failed to find a node with the given xpath
- Verse.PatchOperationAdd(xpath="/Defs/BiomeDef[defName="LavaField"]/wildPlants"): Failed to find a node with the given xpath

@moo - What red errors? The mod doesn't make errors with the new DLS!
moo 11 Jul @ 2:55pm
Hi again. I figured it was easier to drop big and small.

Separately, would you be able to make the odyssey patches conditional so they stop red erroring?

🌾 VV – New Harvest 4.3
What’s new in 4.3?
Millet Plant has been fine-tuned for survival. It now thrives better on poor soils, making it a reliable crop in harsher environments.
Wild plants now naturally spawn in some of the new biomes introduced by the Odyssey DLC – bringing life (and a bit of flavor) to the unknown.

@moo - Hey! Thanks for digging into this and sharing the info.
It looks like the issue stems from interactions with other mods like Big and Small - Races and Expanded Materials, not directly from VV - New Harvest.
I’m keeping an eye on it but for now, there’s nothing to fix on my side. Hopefully the other mod authors will sort it out soon!

Hold on, a third mod - the Obsidian material from El's Archeology.

Something's going on. It might not be your mod after all!

Keep these comments here please - I'm going to reach out to the B&S-R mod author to come here and look

To make matters more interesting, it also happened with the copper from Expanded Materials - Metals
