VGE Bandits Integration

Description
Jusblazm's Vanilla Gear Expanded Bandits
This mod provides Bandits wearing modded clothing from Vanilla Gear Expanded. This integration currently only adds bandits wearing the modded clothes. It does not do anything with the retextures that VGE provides for some vanilla clothing.

Because I wanted to make these bandit clans quickly, I wrote a script to generate random bandits from a predefined list of clothes (VGE with a few vanilla items like socks, underwear, and weapons). Due to the random-factor of the script some bandits may look weird, though I tried to refine the script enough to make it not as bad.

Clans added are meant to be seen and enjoyed, so by default they have a large window of settings. Feel free to modify to your liking, however be aware that settings will revert on every update*.
*If you really want to adjust the settings and keep them permanent, you can save your custom clan settings in your local Zomboid file. It should always overwrite the mod, since local is loaded last. For details on how to do this please visit my GitHub from the link at the bottom.

Updates
I plan to release a new update on the 2nd of each month. This update will replace the current batch of bandits with a brand new batch. This will not harm your saves, nor will it affect currently spawned bandits. Freshly spawned bandits will be wearing gear according to the new list. This will provide some, hopefully noticeable change to extended saves.

The files provided in this mod are extremely simple. The only time this mod will receive updates (outside of monthly bandit refreshes) will be if VGE or Bandits change and there are internal changes to item definitions. Project Zomboid updates that modify item definitions will likely break this mod as well.

Future Plans
  • A handcrafted set of bandits
  • Lore bandits

Compatibility
Absolutely no mod conflicts with two caveats:
  • someone uses my naming convention for their own integration.
  • A unique ID generates a dupe (Wikipedia: the probability to find a duplicate within 103 trillion version-4 UUIDs is one in a billion)

GitHub Archive
I will be keeping an archive of each update's bandits.txt and clans.txt files, so that if there is a set you really like, you can continue to use them even after the mod updates and moves away from them.

Permissions
Literally nothing I'm providing to you is made by me. The item IDs belong to Tango's VGE and Slayer's Bandits NPC reads the text files. However, both VGE and Bandits NPC have the default permissions of Credit where it's due, so I am extending their permissions. Be sure to credit them for their hard work. [theindiestone.com]

Awesome, thank you Slayer. Also good to know on the clans side, I wasn't sure. I am currently brewing up a little tool to make converting my bandits to local easier so people can continue using them if they heavily modify them.

By the way, if players change clan settings they will not be overwritten by this mod updates. Clans.txt is copied to local after first edit and it has priority over clans.txt in your mod. That does not apply to bandits.txt

Ammo is something I can control and the new set of bandits coming at the start of the new month will have reduced ammo and primary rifles will be even more rare. However, other inventory items are controlled by the Bandits mod, so you'll need to ask there for inventory tweaks.

I like your bandits mods. But one thing. Can you reduce the loot they have? After the zombies kill them I don´t have to loot the houses. It´s enough to loot the Banfits corpses. They even give 43 ammo magazines....

Yeah I am, currently I'm going through a handful of clothing mods, then I am going to set up some base game gangs.

Thank you for this! Are you planning on creating more bandit gangs? I'd love to sub!
