Description
Jusblazm's US Military Bandits
This mod provides Bandits wearing modded clothing from US Military Pack.

Because I wanted to make these bandit clans quickly, I wrote a script to generate random bandits from a predefined list of clothes (US Military with a few vanilla items like socks, underwear, and weapons). Due to the random-factor of the script some bandits may look weird, though I tried to refine the script enough to make it not as bad.

Clans added are meant to be seen and enjoyed, so by default they have a large window of settings. Feel free to modify to your liking, however be aware that settings will revert on every update*.
*If you really want to adjust the settings and keep them permanent, you can save your custom clan settings in your local Zomboid file. It should always overwrite the mod, since local is loaded last. For details on how to do this please visit my GitHub from the link at the bottom.

Updates
I plan to release a new update on the 2nd of each month. This update will replace the current batch of bandits with a brand new batch. This will not harm your saves, nor will it affect currently spawned bandits. Freshly spawned bandits will be wearing gear according to the new list. This will provide some, hopefully noticeable change to extended saves.

This mod has a slightly higher chance to break than my other integration mods, due to the fact that I had to extend some Bandits NPC functionality with equipment slots provided by KATTAJ1 Clothes Core. I put some securities into the extension for some predictable updates that may come, so that if Bandits makes my extension redundant, it hopefully will not cause issues. However, much like my other integration mods, if Bandits, US Military Pack, KATTAJ1 Clothes Core, or Project Zomboid update and modify item definitions, this mod will likely break.

Compatibility
Absolutely no mod conflicts with two caveats:
  • someone uses my naming convention for their own integration.
  • A unique ID generates a dupe (Wikipedia: the probability to find a duplicate within 103 trillion version-4 UUIDs is one in a billion)
I've temporarily (permanently?) added KATTAJ1 Clothes Core as a required item, because US Military Pack requires it, but it does not tell steam that it is required. This is important because if you don't have KATTAJ1 Clothes Core already installed due to other mod requirements, US Military Pack, and therefore my integration, cannot be activated in game.

I will be keeping an archive of each update's bandits.txt and clans.txt files, so that if there is a set you really like, you can continue to use them even after the mod updates and moves away from them.

Permissions
I created a simple extension for Bandits NPC that allows bandits to wear the custom equipment slots provided by KATTAJ1 Clothes Core and I corrected a texture issue in US Military Pack. The item IDs and clothing ID belong to Wayne's US Military Pack, the BodyLocation's belong to TTAJ1bl4's KATTAJ1 Clothes Core and Slayer's Bandits NPC reads the text files. US Military Pack and Bandits NPC have the default permissions of Credit where it's due, and KATTAJ1 Clothes Core has On Lockdown permissions, but explicitly permits references. Check out the Bandits Multiplayer Dedicated Setup guide pinned in the discussions of the Bandits mod. Slayer has a step by step section on how to edit bandits and sync them to your server in there.

Hey, i cant edit the bandits or anything when i try to host a multiplayer server, do you know how to fix it?

I've adjusted the chances even more for high amounts of ammo to spawn. Previously it was possible for them to spawn with 20 boxes (the max amount), albeit rare, now they won't be able to spawn with more than 10 and the adjustment made it 4x rarer.

This change won't go into effect until the bandit refresh on the 2nd of June.

Good addition but they have too many magazines on hand (70 or 80!). Please reduce.

If you enable the mod, they will have a chance to spawn whenever the bandits mod calls for a clan to spawn

do the bandits naturally spawn in the world or do i have to do it my self

Once subscribed, all you have to do is enable the mod like you would any other mod and they will integrate themselves into the spawn list.

By default do these gangs once subscribed just start randomly appearing in game or would I have to do that manually?

@Sane, do you mean you don't see the Bandit Creator option on the main menu? My integrations don't rely on Bandit Creator, so it is not a required mod. You will need to download Bandit Creator separately if you want to tweak the bandits.
