Info
This addon includes the Advanced Knee Replacements and Long Fall Boots from the Portal series. They are available as scripted entities that are equipped in a similar fashion to the Long Jump Module from the original Half-Life. Once an item is equipped, it is always active. The Advanced Knee Replacements and the Long Fall Boots are functionally identical - they both absorb fall damage and play impact sounds from their respective games. The Long Fall Boots, when equipped, also feature concrete, tile, and metal footstep sound effects from Portal 2.

This addon includes a pair of normal shoes as an item which serves as a way to unequip any pair of Knee Replacements or Long Fall Boots.

This addon also features a bonus item, intended for fun instead of accuracy to the Portal series. The Rubberized Knee Replacements are a special pair of Advanced Knee Replacements that have been infused with Repulsion Gel. Not only do they absorb the impact of a fall, but they release the absorbed energy of the impact back into the ground, launching the wearer back up to the height they originally jumped or fell from.

The functionality of these items can be adjusted in a settings page found under the "Utilities" tab of the Sandbox Spawnmenu. These options can also be set through a handful of console commands, which are prefixed with "sv_pbm". In multiplayer, these options can only be adjusted by administrators or the server host.

FAQ
Q: How do I spawn and equip these?
A: Spawnmenu (default: "Q") → "Entities" Tab → "Portal" Section. Once spawned, you can press your +USE key (default: "E") to equip them.

Q: How do I stop bouncing around with the Rubberized Knee Replacements?
A: Press the key bound to +DUCK (default: "CTRL") when landing.

Q: This addon doesn't work! (or) This addon breaks another one of my addons!
A: This addon hooks into game functions that many other addons do. Please try changing the "Alternate Function Hook" option in this addon's option menu. This isn't something that's easy to fix to ensure no issues with other addons. This a limitation of the order in which Garry's Mod executes Lua function hooks.

Just had a thought to add to my previous thought: It would be nice if players and the server could independently mute impact sounds, and maybe even on a per-player basis.

would be cool if we could disable sounds for specific boots, like maybe disabling the impact sound for specifically the advanced knee replacements and such

@wiimeiser
Found the cause of the issue. It will be fixed in the next addon update, once I tidy some other things up.

Settings don't seem to save between maps, at least the "Spawn with..." doesn't.

Cool mod

@Цonиc
Not possible since that addon (from a glance of what it does based on its workshop images and description) hooks into the GM:GetFallDamage function, which this addon also hooks into in order to override fall damage.

this addon makes this one not work: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3135007291 Can you fix that?

@Sunny
Thanks for noticing that. The addon's images have been updated.

Since this addon is standalone, I think you forget to edit the images regarding requirements
