Ringmaster – Animation Tweaks

A streamlined animation mod for the Ringmaster class by TheHolyChicken. Shorter, cleaner, and better aligned with the minimalist style of vanilla Darkest Dungeon.

Overview
The fantastic Ringmaster class by TheHolyChicken is full of quality and amazing art. However, I found some of the long, fluid animations clashed with vanilla Darkest Dungeon's fast, 1–2 frame skill effects.

This mod simplifies and refines the most animation-heavy skills, speeding them up if needed and aligning them more with the game's default pacing. Also alters the Walk animation.

What This Mod Changes

NEW: ARM FIX
• Ringmaster's missing arm during IDLE/WALK Animations along with the fur piece in front of it have been retextured + reanimated for all pallettes so it's more obvious that the arm is behind her back. No more floating half-arm!

WALK ANIMATION
• She now walks smoothly and the mace moves a bit more naturally.

FOOT ALIGNMENT (Walk, Idle, Combat Sprites)
• Ringmaster's feet are no longer below the 'ground' line - ie. her feet are now on the same level as other heroes, instead of slightly below.

SKILL ANIMATIONS:

Flummox! (Puppet Throw)
• Faster and cleaner: puppets now quickly strike the target without floating or wiggling all the way there.

Last Laugh (Mace Bash)
• Shorter windup, better impact sync. The mace now lands when the hit sound plays - no more awkward delays.

Barry & Leon (Puppet Stress Heal)
• Puppets move less - the animation is snappier.

Fan Favourite (Spotlight Buff)
• Dimmer spotlight that still flickers visibly
• Less screen domination
• Tossed roses have minimal float and get to the point - literally

Grand Entrance - Fixed palettes B through E being jumbled up
• Shorter windup, better impact sync.
• Slightly less swinging motion - still plenty of movement to achieve the same epic feel of the skill

If folks would like - I can package just the arm fix + walk fix + foot alignment fix as a second mod in case anyone’s not crazy about the skill animation changes, but still want the fixes.

should be fixed. Can't fully test it in-game right away so give a shout if you notice something off before I do!

I've just noticed that the sprite for Ringmaster's low health auto-riposte looks a little off.
I'll troubleshoot when I have some free time. Fortunately that doesn't trigger too often and its still recognisable but yeah gotta fix it

Load above or doesn't matter?

Yenno it’s funny that arm is what first made me take a closer look at all the animations, however I believe it’s implied to be tucked behind her back!

It could probably be more clear tho - I’ll see about adding a little visible bit of forearm to make it more obvious

Will you be fixing her missing arm in her walking animation by any chance?
