Description
Changelog

Historically inaccurate reskin. Most of Rome's units have been visibly adjusted only; no new units or changes to their stats. Most units improve in armour quality as they increase in rank, e.g. Praetorian Guard looks tougher and more experienced than Legionary Cohorts.

Like my mod, but hate the trousers? Try this.

This mod complements my new Rome units.

Visual Changes:

All Units
  • Added boots and trousers (Includes Generals)
  • Heavier units have arm armour
  • Replaced Roman skin with Greek skin, since they have phantom limbs
  • Accessories added to units where it they can fit
  • Armour advances through the Marian reforms as normal, but with more visual consistency
  • Veteran legionaries and evocati cohorts have leather cloaks
  • Standard bearers have more animal pelts
  • Artillery crew have toolkit

Compatibility

Tested with: Patch 19

As with all of my current and upcoming reskin projects, it only uses vanilla assets to maintain a small size and compatibility. Therefore, it will work with everything except those which edit the variantmeshdefinition files for these units. In the case of a conflict, the last one loaded with override the previous changes.

Postscript

Problems or requests? Leave me a comment.

To reiterate the opening line: it doesn't prescribe to any notions of historical accuracy. So beware, there is none of that to be found here.

Sorry I also meant to put General and Bodyguard in there as well. I'm kinda bad at remembering stuff.

Oh and I also noticed the same thing with some of the other socii units, just in case that helps any. :0

Thank you so much dude! Trouser equality!!

I'm not sure why I left them out, it is definitely an oversight. When I have a moment, I'll look into giving them trousers! Even at their lower caste, I believe in trouser-equality for everyone.

Hey, I just noticed that the Socii Equites Extrodinarii were seeming to be missing from the reskin. Just was wondering if it was a bug or intentional. Great work on this btw, I absolutely love seeing Romans without their noodle legs :)

No one has mentioned problems, and I just tried the custom battle with all of the units and a cursory check didn't see any units missing anything. If there's a specific problem, I would recommend mentioning it so that I can search for that.

Hey just checking if you were able to find the problem ,or if it was just my computer.

Haha yes thanks

Is it no longer functional? Many reskins continue working after updates, as they do not modify any of the core data. If it's acting up, I will take a look :)
