Description
Brought to you by [KBS] Kobosian Solutions -- if you like this mod then please RATE it!

*Note: Tested under vanilla speed settings only! Suitable for use in space or on Earth-like, Mars-like, and Alien-like planet types as well as Europa-like and Titan-like moons. Not suitable for Luna-like moons due to the lack of atmosphere.

Looking for a planetary pod that uses Hydrogen Thrusters and is capable of landing using any speed mod? Try the Lander Respawn Pod!

For a full listing of all kobosian respawn ships, see here! All ships are continually updated to remain version compatible and are designed to fulfil distinct roles and functions.

Description

This is the planet-ready version of the Solar Respawn Pod. Major changes in design include the introduction of Atmospheric Thrusters to enable planetary flight (while retaining a few Ion Thrusters for basic maneuverability in space). Overall, this is the perfect pod for those players who wish to experiment with survival starts on (or nearby) planets.

Just after the blueprint? You can find it here!

What is it?
A small grid Respawn Ship designed for survival PvP servers with a minimum 3x inventory multiplier. This mod replaces all stock respawn ships with three different colour variants of the Solar Respawn Pod.

What does it have?
Oriented towards minimalism, the Solar Respawn Pod comes stocked with all the materials required for starting out fresh without handing everything to the player on a silver platter.

Within the Pod's inventory are enough components to build...
- 2x Battery
- 2x Solar Panel
- 1x Oxygen Generator
- 1x Oxygen Tank
- 1x Medical Room
- 1x Assembler
- 1x Arc Furnace
- 1x Small Cargo Container
- 5x Light Armor

With a bit of extra Silicon to aid in the future construction of a Refinery (ie. Computers).

In addition to this, the pod itself can be easily torn down for salvage or left as is for use as an atmospheric scouting craft.

What's it made of?
The pod utilises a combination of Solar Panels and Batteries for power and is completely independent of Uranium. It has a simple yet stylish design and incorporates all the standard blocks one would expect of a modern respawn ship, including Oxygen Generator, Oxygen Tank, Air Vent, Antenna, Remote Control, Camera (for first person landings), and Ore Detector.

*Note: For the sake of multiplayer server stability no Landing Gear are installed on the pod.

A small quantity of Ice is supplied with the pod to give the player just enough time to track down new sources. Emergency player tools and Oxygen/Hydrogen Bottles are also provided.

How does it land?
As well as being fully capable in space, the Solar Respawn Pod is designed to enter into a planet's gravity well and automatically come to a sustainable hover by use of its Atmospheric Thrusters.

All the player is required to do is keep it level to the horizon and by roughly the 3000m altitude mark the pod's speed should noticeably start slowing down for an eventual stop at roughly 500-1000m altitude.

*Caution: These numbers are based on test landings on a standard Earth-like planet starting from an altitude of 15000m. Individual landing results may vary depending on the height of the landing surface, the gravity of the planet, and the top speed achieved. This pod has not been tested with any speed mods.

----------

Some special features worth noting are...
- Constructed entirely of vanilla blocks
- Ion and Atmospheric Thrusters
- Fully functional conveyor system from front to back
- Easily modified into a combat or utility ship
- Early warning enemy detection system

do you have a version of your survial ships that are additions rather than replacements? I like the ship, but sometimes i want options

now that I think about it, I have realistic invenotory setting, so it might be too heavy to land on this setting...

this ship seems unable to slow down for landing. I have vanilla game with only this mod istalled and trying out the solar system scenario. I have tried to land about 5 times, each time it just fails to slow down and explodes on surface. no speed increasing mods or anything, just vanilla.

Yea NP. It was really weird cause the cockpit was fine as well the air vent did its job I just found it strange that the game thought there is no oxygen around the ship... but yea other than that Gr8 ship m8

Hey Zaria, thanks for the heads up. I'll look into the no oxygen issue.

Is this ship like deadly to go near or some shit? I started a world with this (dear god you MUST NOT have any sort of speed increasing mod while trying to land) But like every single time I went close to any part of the ship oxygen suddenly hits 0 and you suffocate with Helmet off, which is and easy fix, Keep the helmet on, But i mean if im in a high oxygen atmosphere ima take it off cause whats the point wasting ice... Anways im not sure what caused this but this has only ever happened with this ship. Just thought youd want to know

Hey Wolverine, sorry for the very late response! I don't believe they will work like that, no - the mod at the top of the list will be the only one that works. I'm still tinkering with ideas for collection packs though, I'll let you know as soon as there's been any progress.

Can this AND the Lander mods be both added and work at the same time?

@artfulmonster34 Let me know if you really want me to make that custom version. I haven't done it yet because I never heard back from you!

@Wolverine I've been planning a couple of different collection packs for a while but have never gotten around to it. I'll see what I can do this weekend!
