Description
Test chambers inspired by the works of Edgar Allan Poe. I have written a poem to describe where these new test chambers came from. To be read in the style of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven”. Please to enjoy:

Across time and space and stars, there exists an Earth parallel to ours,
As comparable and contrary as each frozen crystal snow.
In this world there sits a lad, full of sorrow-in darkness clad,
A poor young chap by the name of Edgar Allan Poe.
Test chamber design is his vocation and the source of all his woe,
The eternal source of Edgar’s woe.

At first it had been a passing whim, which soon had changed to something grim,
When Edgar caught Master Johnson’s eye while laying out a chamber floor.
“My boy, you’ve got spunk, you’ve got moxie, that momentum jump is downright foxy.”
“What say you take the lead on this whole testing design chore?”
And from that day on Edgar designed test chambers. And test chambers. And nothing more,
Merely this and nothing more.

Edgar thought at least he was not a tester, remembering his colleague Lester,
Who gave his life to science with nothing else to show.
Yes, who could forget late Lester and his laser melted polyester,
After that the test suits changed but not the narrative of the show.
Out loud young Edgar mutters, “ ‘Tis more to life than this I know.”
“ ‘Tis more to life, I know, I know.”

Edgar yearned to compose a life dedicated to verse and prose,
Of stories to scare and entertain, in distant lands and days of yore.
And during midday’s coffee repose, within Edgar some small hope arose,
Perhaps he could pursue his dream, something worthy, something more.
But then Master Johnson’s voice came booming, echoing through hall and door,
“You’ll make these chambers... and nothing more.”

From the Diary of Edgar Allan Poe - January 14th, 1842 It is like some sick and twisted game we play, Master Johnson and I. A game that continues to spiral further out of control until it will explode in an eruption of blood and violence. I try to test his...
